In such desperate situations, you may go scrambling about your house for something that can be fashioned into a DIY Wii Wheel. In order to save you a bit of panic, we've come up with a bunch of makeshift Wii Wheels that will work in a pinch -- and some that wouldn't, but are almost as funny as adults holding fake steering wheels in the air and pretending to drive with them.

has anyone considered the fact that the wiiwheel holds the remote slightly above the axis. I wonder if this will impact steering and there will be a noticeable difference between this and others that have the remote exactly centered. I'm interested to give it a try.

lol, i just think that it is funny that it took them like 30 prototypes to make a wii wheel that looks exactly like a white psp! seriously, find an image of the back and you will see exactly what i mean.

I'm completely lost as to what exactly is stopping anyone from just holding the damn controller sideways? It works for the SIXAXIS.
Its a HOLLOW PLASTIC SHELL! It's not made of dilithium crystals! It doesnt absolutely nothing! It doesnt even keep your hands centered on a pivot.

Yeah... it's all about the simple "feel" of it.
If things were made to just be "effective" and not "unnecessary design", most of our systems and controllers would be friggin' fugly.
Not to mention how our cars would look like... or toilets for that matter. :P

although the wheel is fun - especially watching other people using it with their arms flying all over the place - for me its the nunchuck-wiimote combo all the way for way quicker lap times.
