Super Chart Bros. Brawl
At first glance, we presumed those blue bars represented the first month sales of all three Smash games in the U.S. But no: those are lifetime sales of Super Smash Bros. and Super Smash Bros. Melee respectively, while the red bar is Brawl's first month sales. That's right: in its opening month alone, Brawl not only bypassed the lifetime sales of the first title in the franchise, but has already reached 70% of its predecessor's all-time sales. Our flabbers? Consider them gasted.

NICE! :)
Oh, and count me in on that SSBM bar twice.
My bro sold my old copy of the game about a year or two back, and I bought another copy about 2 weeks before SSBB came out...
Yeah, I got so excited, I couldn't wait anymore. :P

We could either count you twice or count you once (for the second game) and the guy that bought your first game once. Gotta avoid double counting in GDP.

I think it depends on whether he bought it new or used.... if it's new it counts, and if it's used it doesn't (which is why video game publishers hate the success of the used biz.)

Well, if you really want to be technical:
The one my bro sold, someone already bought. And the one I bought was new. (I don’t like buying used games)

Why does the "lot" link lead to an article about Mario Galaxy.

Projecting this onto Melee's insanely long sales legs, you could see a great winner here

Wow, that is impressive. Brawl's sales should easily exceed Melees, considering Melee sold well for GameCube's entire life and Wii has already passed GCN in sales.

Awwwwww yeaaaaaaaaahhh
This is just spectacular. In a sense, I had already expected as much from the Best Game on the wii ever. That still doesn't account for my jaw dropping 3 inches lower than what I thought was medically possible.

Another thing to take into account when comparing the sales for the first month is. The availability of the system. The GC was available to anyone who wanted one at that time. While the Wii, well in my area, is still hard to obtain. If you think about the people still waiting to get the Wii, and then will buy Brawl the numbers would be higher.
Of course thats just my two cents

I find it funny how Melee still sold 10,000 copies in March of '08. I bet they're the ones who don't have a Wii, and are jealous.

I was going to say those numbers looked wrong but it's US only....and why is that not surprise since EU ain't got the game yet....Well I have it and that's all that really matters.
