We've been waiting pretty much forever (since November, but we're mental goldfish) for the Everybody's Nintendo Channel to launch over here after seeing how cool the Japanese version is. Nintendo has announced that the Nintendo Channel, which offers DS demo downloads, user-submitted game reviews, and exclusive video content, will be released in the U.S. on May 12th, the same day WiiWare launches.Users will be able to submit reviews of their WiiWare games after playing for the industry standard time (joking) of one hour. We really hope that the same kind of cool DS downloads and video material is available for us as there is in Japan.

Wow! I thought this would never happen. Or not happen for awhile. Ah, so the only thing that nintendo players in North America will be missing is the tv guide channel. Which isn't a loss to me at all.
Anyhow, that week of may is going to be insane, Wii Fit on Thursday, Wiiware launch and Nintendo Demo Channel. It's like a celebration of all things Wii and Nintendo. Can't wait.

lol yea really. When was the Wii-train supposed to be slowing down again? ;)
Nintendo is really doing a good job at NOT letting the Wii fall victim to those dry spells that were all too commonplace with the 'Cube.

On another note, I might just dance with joy!!! I was getting ecstasy bursts as I read the title and as I further read the post. I think I'm about to dance. So that's 3 new channels for me... MKWii, Wii Fit, and this! Does anyone know if the reviews are written by us or simply a selection of a star from 1 to 5. An English video of the Jap version would be nice, if anyone has a link to that.
WAHOOOOOO!!! May 12th can't come soon enough! I'm going to be PENNILESS!!!!!!! YESSIR! Charlie cannot wait fo' you May 12th. He gon' die from lack of money to buy him water an' bread!

Are you serious? You didn't pick up Ninja Gaiden, OR Shiren, OR Final Fantasy? For that matter, Advance Wars 2, and about 3 or 4 other gems. WTF?
There have been at least 2 good games a month on average so far this year, if not more.

Review times? That's great. No hundreds of reviews exclaiming how amazing the graphics were in the First five mins of my life as a prince then, and the reviews of PoP might just have something to say about it's longevity.
I live in Europe, but I'm happy for you guys.

I think what JC means by reviews is the bar that you move to show how much you like a game.(ex: )
I can kind of write fast using Wii Remote only(on internet channel now) but a full-on review would be hard to do.

Yeah, the whole idea of reviews in the first place is pretty sweet. I know it's not on PSN, but what about XBL? Or is Nintendo doing something original here?

I don't know if MoH H2 online is barren w/ the release of Brawl, but despite the ok graphics(ok for Wii) and low amount of guns to choose, MoH H2 has a good, sleamless online play.
Though, like I said, check if MoH H2 is barren online before you buy.

I just went on MOHH2 the other day, and it was full of life, so I'd guess it would still be like that.

Yes! I've been waiting for this channel for so long. Good to finally get a solid release date.
"Users will be able to submit reviews of their WiiWare games after playing for the industry standard time (joking) of one hour."
Unfortunately all too often gamers make everlasting judgments about a game by playing it for much less than an hour. Past posts on WiiFanboy have proven that some gamers make decisions about games in less than 20 minutes. That is just way too short a period for one to truly judge a game.

This is much quicker than I was thinking it would take to make the jump to the US market.. Mario Kart this week and this soon after!! Way to go Nintendo..
Just to think a few months ago I was ready to sell this system then games like No More Heroes and Smash Bros opened my eyes to the system.

When it comes to Sega games, most sites and magazines believe the industry standard is five-minutes. Don't believe me? Check out IGN reviews of NiGHTS, Sega Superstars Tennis, House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return, and other recently released Sega games (excluding the craptastic Condemned 2). Honestly, how can people give that game a better score than the games listed above?

I actually prefer my DS to the Wii, so I'll be using this for the DS demos. I've never seen a working DS download station. :(

Well, the videos will most likely be streamed, and DS demos are only stored in temporary memory (RAM) on the DS so besides the size of the channel it won't use any space. But yeah, I wish they would just make a mass storage device driver already and let us plug in any USB drive like they said they would several frickin years ago.
