Speed Racer videos show cars chasin' after someone
We've embedded another video below that was labeled as a "Stunt Gameplay" trailer, which shows the player (in Racer X's car?) tossing other racers of the way, among other things.

I seriously doubt a title like SpeedRacer could ever accomplish the pure beauty and simply astounding soundtrack that only Wipeout could achieve. I do have my hopes up even though they'll eventually get knocked down when this comes out. Discouraging, I know.

This game still looks fun. And I'm still considering buying it.

Judging by everyone else's reaction, I'd say our opinion is blinded by our love for the cartoon :P.

Blinded?
Hmm... if it's actually a fun game, I'd say that "our love for the cartoon saved us from missing out". :P

This looks like crap. Cars look like they float. And the positioning of the car on the screen means you have no forewarning before you're hit. Looks like phantom hits the driver's taking. Between this vid and the one from last week, racing in this game looks like a total clusterf ...

Looks like the Burnout team tried to make an F-Zero game. It looks like I may rent this one, and reserve my major judgement for after I have some time to play it.
That been said, I would have rather seen them do this one in Cell Shaded polys with the more classic designs for the vehicles and tracks straight out of the old show, nostalgia goggles or no, I think it would have made a better game overall. The comments as you pass other drivers/they pass you could be neat though, if it varies enough.

I have more interest in Wild Africa than this game, largely because the movie looks absolutely terrible, something to revile the awfulness of live-action cartoon movies like the Flintstones.

This looks like pure crap. I had high hopes for this franchise once I heard a live action movie was going to be released. I've yet to see anything that brings excitement like the original cartoon once did.
