We wonder, however, how many people actually cared -- how many people were offended who either bought Okami twice or dutifully held on to their Nintendo fandom, firm in the belief that Okami wouldn't be any good without waggle? For us, it was just a few seconds of lulz. We didn't hold anything against Capcom or anything, except that, of course, we would have preferred Wii Fanboy watermarks to IGN's.

Wait a second... they changed the artwork? When?! AHA! That's how clueless and uncaring I was when I read this post... in a good way.

"Blogging isn't as ridiculously awesome as I pictured in my head..."
I laughed.
Your blog is awesome, though, I've only read the top post, so far.

Watermarkgate?
If I see that word again I'm going to headbutt my computer.
I'll do it. This is the internet: I'll provide anecdotal evidence as proof.

No. Do it again. In-fact do it a couple of times. If you KO yourself, you have to try again.

I didn't really give a damn about it one way or the other.
But now I have the super rare collectors edition. You all should go out and buy it, too, before a new shipment comes through. Mmmm Hmm! Wouldn't want to miss out on easy money by not buying Okami now, would you, fence sitters?

I think I would prefer a label without the IGNorant watermark on it. I can't say it would be much of a disaster, though. :P

Roto, you wouldn't believe me if I told you but, whenever I read your posts... I STRONGLY imagine Harrison Ford's savee silky smooth soft voice... anyone else think that's strange?

Whenever someone sees a picture of me for the first time, they're always so disappointed that I'm not actually Harrison Ford. xD
In other news, I actually picked up a copy of Okami today (which means I now have every game Clover ever made) complete with watermark. :P I'll be registering for a new label soon.

I didn't really care about it at all, the game will be just as good either way. Nice move on their part though, I put in an order for a replacement cover just cause they're so cool looking :)

I had such high hopes for this game when I bought it. Then I get home with my new copy and read NWF before my first playthrough, and find out the horrible truth.
I can't touch the game now. I just weep into my hands when I look at the box and see that damned watermark. I have sworn vengeance on Capcom. They will pay for their ignorance of the mighty box art. I swear by it.

I know it's probably not IGN's fault, but it would be a hoot if Capcom could hack into their site and start plastering their logo everywhere.

What bothers me more than the IGN watermark is the big red spot with the 9.5 PLAY marking. So I am happy to get new artwork because of that blemish.

I was mostly offended as a graphic designer. I don't think that's EVER happened in the history of games. It's pretty embarassing. Thus, I'll be more than happy to collect my new Okami cover.
