Mario Kart won't be the only kart racing game for the Wii

And no, we're not even talking about Deca Sports, which features kart racing as one of its ten activities. Rather, Conspiracy Entertainment is making another Wii game in their Cocoto series, called Cocoto Kart Racer (which is already out for the DS, GameCube, PC and PS2). The title should be coming out soon (the press release said Q2 2008), and will probably break the hearts of children everywhere. We're not saying it will necessarily be a bad game (even though the other versions got poor reviews, so let's be realistic), but the point is, it's not Mario Kart.

Imagine a child asking his or her parents for Mario Kart, only to be sorely disappointed when they come home with Cocoto Kart Racer instead because they don't know the difference or want to go with the cheaper option. We can definitely see that happening.

There are some whose brains will leak out of their eyes before they even begin to play this game. They will be the lucky few.

In fairness I may be judging this game a little hard, branding it as shovelware without even taking into account the love and effort that went into it. But realistically it's probably a big steaming pile of monkey poop.

They make PS2 games still but noone makes GC games anymore.

And I think it means you can buy it on those other systems but a Wii version is coming Q2.

Yeah, the other versions (GC, DS, PC, PS2) are already out. Only the Wii version will be new.

So some little brat is going to get to learn disappointment if he gets Cocothoacoto racing game. Back in 1977 when I was a kid my ma came home with a CSPO halloween costume from Kmart when I wanted a Darth Vader. Let's just say that my social standing took a huge hit in the 3rd grade sitting there in the bright yellow gay CSPO outfit.

With 4ish scores for the other versions, it's pretty likely that the game won't be as good as Mario Kart Wii. But hey, if you disagree, go and buy it.
