Despite us getting excited about a Prince of Persia prequel back in October, it looks like we're left out to dry on the new Prince of Persia game that was recently confirmed. According to a post over at Nintendic, the odds of us getting this new game are pretty slim. That's not to say that Ubisoft doesn't want to bring the franchise back to the Wii, however. They're currently investigating how to bring Prince of Persia back to the console. Let's just hope they put a bit more into it than their last effort, should it happen.

Good.
Seriously, when you're going to start developing games across all three platforms, the best you can end up with without making two versions of the same game is a good Wii game and a really shitty PS360 game. The Wii does it's own thing and it does it well, but to keep it in mind when defining the standard for graphics and sound would just drag the rest of the industry down.
A new, original PoP game would be very much appreciated, but who actually thought the other game had any chance of ever hitting the Wii?

Develpers have done well enough makeing a game for PS3, 360, and Wii without resorting to makeing drastically different versions. I really have given up an Ubisofts so called AAA titles. They really are out to give Nintendo the shaft it seems. Assasins Creed would have been a great Wii game, Prince of Person would also work out very well.
Wii got what from Ubi? Raving Rabids? A good game, but yeah. Um...thanks?

Ubisoft made some hardcore games for Wii at its launch, including Red Steel which was specifically designed for it. Unfortunately they were also the worst of Wii's launch games so I think it's a very good thing they're taking a step back and reevaluating their approach.

Ubi is not "out to give Nintendo the shaft", *Nintendo* is out to give Nintendo the shaft. They are the ones that decided to go in the "innovative controller and software" direction, instead of following the pack and going in the "grunt grunt more power" direction like the rest of the companies. It's not an objectively bad decision (it does after all PRINT MONEY), but they should have known up front that this exactly the sort of thing that would end up happening. You can't expect people to make cross platform titles where one of the platforms is less than half as capable, hardware-wise, as the others.
The same thing happens in the PC market. Some companies make Bejeweled, which will run on any PC out since before Bush was president, while others make Crisis and Doom 3 and Supreme Commander. Not everybody is willing to tie themselves to legacy hardware, and Nintendo knew that full well during the Wii's design phase.

That's a good thing. If they make a unique, Wii-only PoP game I'm all for it, but when somebody tries making the same game across 3 different consoles, they tend to work better on the 360 and the PS3. Plus, Ubisoft kinda blows.

Ubisoft published No More Heroes in North America. They get points for that.

Well, that's one more game that I don't have to worry about not buying.
