I just peed a little...
With this, We Ski and the other endless possibilities, I'm really glad that I pre-ordered my WiiFit.

DARN! No cash means no Wii Fit this month. Damn Okami and Mario Kart and the ever annoying final exams! June will be a better gaming month for me. I'll have a brand new wad of cash (from my allowance) and I will buy Wii Fit only, so that will be my economic month, so come the new fiscal year and E3 I will have saved up good money in the summer to buy more games. Lets hope the full game will be good for this. It will probably be my first skating game ever if it is. Controls look promising.
Geez, I simply can't write a short comment, can I?

Eh. The thing that made Skate so awesome was the controls... and now it's being changed to (probably unresponsive and sloppy) waggle motions.

You know, here's the thing: I don't even own a 360 or a PS3, but I've been a long-time Nintendo fan and have had a Wii since day one...
And I *still* upvoted your post just because you're absolutely right.

Umm, have you guys played SSX on the wii?? The motion control worked amazing once you learned it, and IMO, it blew away the old style ssx game play from the cube. I dont know why you doubt stake it would be any less..

As a longtime Wii user, after watching that video I have to say: Those Wiimote controls are going to be SOOO unreliable. I'd get it under three conditions:
1. I manage to end up with a balance board (I'm not interested in WiiFit).
2. You can somehow do those tricks with just the board OR they have the common sense to let you just do it "Skate"-style with the classic/GC controller THAT ALL THE DEVELOPERS KEEP FORGETTING THE WII HAS!!
3. It allows custom soundtracks. I'm not gonna put up with listening to hours of that "EA Trax" garbage (I'd rather listen to a modern pop radio station all day, and that's saying a LOT).

if they play Fujiya and Miyagi the entire time it'll fine, but yeah, custom soundtracks and normal controller support, the motion controls are fine in small does or used properly, but a lot of games just need classic controller support.

forget a skating game. let's see someone do a futuristic
game where the balance board is like a hovercraft you ride and move on and the wii remote as a weapon(spear, mace, axe, laser gun, etc) to use on your opponent. make it online, hold tournaments, create factions...that's what i'd like to see.

Those usually don't end up being very good. See TrickStyle.

Seems that EA is serious about this game and using the same engine as for PS3 & Xbox360 means that visuals and physics will be satisfying.
