But, does it tout one of the best Wiimote control schemes yet? We'll have to wait and see, however, in the meantime, tell us what titles you think best utilize the Wii's wonderfully unique controls? We'll get you started with an easy one: Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure.

Lost Winds hands down. Zack and Wiki is great.. but I was blown away with how effortlessly the controls worked for Lost Winds. The production values in the controls alone made me a very happy Wii owner.
Controls that DONT work: While i love Gundam 0079, using the saber is probably the easiest way to implant your wii mote into your tv if that is possible for an educated person to do lol. Seriously though, in order to get an response you have to swing like a monkey on crack.

WarioWare. I'm also fond of the controls in Defend Your Castle after playing it yesterday, though I might need to invest in a wrist brace.

Boom Blox. Even though you are really only making a couple of basic movements (not many different gestures, like in Zack & Wiki) the response is perfect and turns this into a wonderful game that simply couldn't be played on any other console.
Runners up:
Pro Evolution Soccer 2008
Wario Ware

Metroid Prime 3 (even though I didn't care for it), Zack & Wiki are easy ones.
Sonic and Okami are almost there, but not quite. I also really like Galaxy's controls. They were simple and non-intrusive but still felt like a Mario game should.
Oh also, even though it sucked ass, MK: Armageddon had some smart controls for the special moves.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say SSX Blur. People's opinions of the controls ranged from high and low, but I think they went out on a limb and actually included nunchuk controls that were both unique and reliable. If you mapped your turning 100% to the nunchuk's tilt, it really added a new layer to the gameplay. On top of that, the Uber moves were like a virtual canvas that lended itself to more depth.

i like the way you think. they were so, so, so close to making this game really cool. my biggest frustration came from trying to do certain uber moves. i loved the idea, but i hated the implementation.
i'll also toss in a vote for smg. sometimes i forget that i'm using motions while i play that game, and that's wonderful.

I've actually only had one incidence of controls on Wii that I really didn't like. Of course that's not counting games that have iffy motion control components that the developers wisely let you skip out on, thereby negating the problem in my mind.
Also on the list of really nice implementations of Wii controls is the Pinball Hall of Fame Williams Collection. That game needs more love.

I say it's easily got to be Metroid Prime 3. I love the controls in Mario Kart too though.

The controls in Resident Evil 4 made it one of my favorite games I have ever played. I don't like shooters (1st or 3rd person) because I don't like aiming with the analog stick. Using the Wii-mote changed everything for me.
I have yet to play Metroid. It is next on the list.
At first I was a big wii wheel fan. I played with it for the first 4-5 hours of play. Then I played with some friends and let them use my only wii wheel. I haven't been able to go back since switching over to the wiimote/nunchuck combo. I still think the wii wheel is fun, but I just can't get used to it again...especially on the 150 class.

The Whiil is a bit too inaccurate for the higher engine classes when you want to get stars on the cups, but playing with it online is the best.

WarioWare...
All other games are pretty basic in Wii-controls.
They run smooth, but that's not the point.
In creativity and ability, no game's beaten WarioWare's controls yet.

The controls in pes2008 are innovative and offer a fresh approach to the genre
Probably the most fun i've had yet is with 'No more heroes' - greatest fun doing ridiculously stylish finishers!

Super Mario Galaxy? You're kitten, right? Its use of the Wiimote was tacked on and pointless. The Super Monkey Ball clone as the only part that had potential.
WarioWare was the most fun use of the Wiimote controls. I agree with Zack & Wiki: The Quest For Barbaros' Treasure and LostWinds as contenders, but I'm not sure if their superb game design makes me forget control issues or if they're genuinely that solid.

Best:
1) Pro Evolution Soccer 2008. Plays a lot like RTS games.
2) Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition. Yeah, I know, last gen game, but the controls are the reason this game got 90+ scores.
3) Super Mario Galaxy. Well, a game designed with the wiimote in mind.
Worst:
I hear FIFA 08 is not a pleasant experience.
And, for god's sake, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3's controls are ridiculous. Yeah, you can switch to normal controls (classic), but OMG, a fighting game where you need to actually perform a Kamehameha with your hands, only to be left frustrated because it works 1/10 times? Absurd.
Also, let's face it people: Zelda Twilight Princess' controls weren't that good. Shaking your remote every time you want to slash is not a good idea in an action game.

No love for Trauma Center? Not a perfect game, but it feels good. Excite Truck is still one of my favorite games, too.
Obviously, Z&W and Metroid Prime 3 also.
I want to try out Boom Blox and NMH is coming in the mail, so maybe my opinion will change soon!
