Is Disaster: Day of Crisis gone forever?
Sad news, if you're willing to buy into this rumor. According to QJ, a supposed Japanese press release was fired off by Nintendo where they explain that Disaster: Day of Crisis has been put on indefinite hold. We're taking this with a big grain of salt, to be honest, because we don't want the rumor to be true and because QJ doesn't even source anything on the rumor.
Without a credible source (or any source, for that matter), we're hard-pressed to buy into all of this. However, it's a good discussion topic, as many are still waiting for Reggie to deliver on his promise of delivering a big Wii title at E3 and hoped this would be it. Until we hear more word on this, we're just going to sit in the corner, with our hands over our ears, singing to ourself as we refuse to buy into this.

It is true, I am actually surprised that no one talk about this since it was announced on Nintendo Japan website on May 16 (i.e. 2 days ago).

If you translate the translation into structured English, it roughly reads:
"I asked to postpone the release date for Disaster to extend the development of the game to deliver a better quality title to the customer."
Can anyone explain to me why this means 'canceled'?!?
Even Brawl was pushed back twice, I still have hope.

Maybe they've changed it into Disaster Training: How To Survive in a Crisis...... :-(
Seriously though, I hope this isn't true (and I don't think it is). Disaster is one of my most anticipated games.

oh hell no. Disaster was one of the games which actually made me look forward to getting a wii, even if my enthusiasm has wained now, i think having something which would be a game im interested to convert into a game i wouldnt touch with a 50 ft pole would make me lose all hope for anything decent coming out for the wii which isnt a rehash or a casual minigame collection :|

I don't think it's completely canceled, I've looked at a couple of different sources now that just say it was postponed so they could work on the game for a bit longer.
Still, though - I'd rather it be Kid Icarus at E3 than this.

They said back in September that the game was still very much so in development and "was looking very good".
Don't buy this. This isn't true. It can't be.

I think it isn't, though. From the link that EvilEmperor provided, we can safely assume that the game has merely been pushed back to a date they have not disclosed yet
Fact of the matter is, though, it could be delayed to any date. Brawl's first definite date was set back two months, but it was a while before we knew what the revised date was.

This game is probably delayed...Brawl was delayed on Jan. 15 or 16 when the then release date was Feb. 10.
Also, this won't be Reggie's big announcement. They already announced this (& Project H.A.M.M.E.R.) in a E3 video when they were showing random Wii software, so it must be another game.
