We love Sundays, as there are always new game sales to look forward to. Luckily, this week there are some sweet deals on a few Wii titles. Scouring through the ad listings at Cheap Ass Gamer, the ones we found of interest include:- Okami for $29.99 at Best Buy
- Boom Blox with a free $10 gift card at Circuit City and Target
- Speed Racer for $29.99 at Target

I just might take your advice. If only I wasn't going to be traveling soon. I won't have much time to play it.

Yeah, well, why not buy it now and play it later. Because it is true that the game needs time, but you may not find a better deal than this any time soon. This game is honestly FAR better than Zelda: TP in my opinion...

It's actually $30, but I would still strongly suggest going for it, although I would disagree about the TP comparison (which is not to say that Okami is bad. It's epic beyond all reason, I just think that TP was more so.). I haven't beaten the game yet, but so far it's felt a lot like TP, except I'm stuck in wolf form and the main character doesn't have any meaningful interactions with people besides a bug on her snout. Link may be a mute, but at least he's an expressive mute.

Ugh, I hate it when businesses do stuff like that. Why can't they just sell us Boom Blox for 10 dollars cheaper?

Lets see...I have $66.92...
Which should I get, Boom Blox(it'd be $40 cause I still have the CC gift card from preordering SSBB)
or Okami for $30
I'll probably get Okami if I actually buy something...but if anyone would help and tell me why I should get Boom Blox or Okami!
Calling all fanboys! :P

Honestly I'd get Boom Blox and then pick up a used Okami for the PS2. You'd think Okami would be fantastic on the Wii but they were really lazy with the controls.

Blah blah blah support Okami blah blah blah It was a great game blah blah blah help express to the gaming industry that extremely unique games are heavily valued and profitable blah blah blah.
We've all said the same shpeal before...
Bottom Lines -
Boom Blox: Unique game that roxes the soxes. But hey, it's already getting support from other people. Nothing to worry about there. You can wait til' the price drops again.
Okami: Unique game that blows the pants off of people. Yes, there's a PS2 version. Yes, it's cheaper. Yes, the Wii version isn't "perfect". But the game isn't gonna' show up on charts if bought through USED PS2 bargain bins... and if this game doesn't get the support that it needs AGAIN, then you might as well send a letter to future game-producers that these type of games will never sell.
Blah blah.

Yeah, support a half-assed port. Great idea.
Get Boom Blox. Then maybe the ps2 version of Okami, gotta draw the line with ports unless they are fantastic upgrades.

The original developers of Okami have been desolved, you'd only be supporting a huge 3rd party who doesn't give a damn what you do so long as they get your money.

Money talks. And as long as it sells, they'll consider things about it.
Yeah, so it ain't by the same company... and it is a half-@ssed port. But as long as the game sells, they'll still consider making something more out of it (or something like it)... and hey, if they screw up, then don't bother buying it.
I'd rather take that risk, for the possibility of getting something good out of it. Slim, but I'll take the chance.
Better than just leaving Okami to die unrecognized (saleswise, that is).
In my opinion, of course.

The real question is if you like action adventure or puzzle games...I myself am getting Boom Blox this weekend coming up. Okami will probably never make it into my library. Who knows though.

Rented the Boom Blox, My ADHD daughter actually played it for over and hour. Pretty soon it became a favorite of the house. Sure it's simple fun, but it takes ya back to when you were a kid , and you and yer buds built lincoln log and LEGO forts and would smash em up in an imaginary battle?,...or somethin like that.
I say, go for Blox, then you can always use the card later.
