Look, we'll give credit where it's due, and Activision definitely deserves a "wuddup" for including Wi-Fi-compatibility in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. But, with all of the things Rock Band is leaving out of the Wii version, we're fearing a rather bad precedent will be set and a lot of the new features presented in this teaser trailer will be absent from the Wii port of the game. Until then, we'll just have to wait and see, we suppose.
Guitar Hero: World Tour trailer touts impressive features which are probably not in the Wii version

I don't want another Drumset, or guitar, or mic (I have 4). The only thing attracting me is Song Creation, which Harmonix will probably incorporate in Rock Band 2.

they always try to make rythm games look so "cool" on their ads, truth is we all look so damn silly playing those fake instruments.
song creation sounds great though

At least we know the Wii version will have track creation and sharing even though it's "unlikely to be as robust."

The way Guitar Hero works, concievably those "Singles" could be no greater in file size than an SSBB Replay. Just save the button press sequences in rhythm
Well, the vocals could be more problematic, if you wanted to save them in any sort of strong fidelity

What features are we talking about exactly? I don't see how (or why) the drums and extra guitars could be left out as they are a critical part of the game. (On a side now, why does Guitar Hero have to become Rock Band? Why not just be Guitar Hero?)
They didn't show any DLC, online play, or any game footage...
I do agree though that it is a concern about the Wii getting less features in certain games. There is certainly no excuse for a game like Rockband not to have online play or DLC, especially when both are entirely possible on Wii. Storage is not an excuse - ever hear of the SD slot Rock Band? Other games use it and so should you.
Then again, some games give Wii the extra features, like with the easy play mode in EA Sports games or the entire online light-saber duel mode in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

Very few Wii owners I know have SD cards, and I'm sure its the same throughout the userbase. Packaging SD cards with the Special Edition would increase the already high cost of the bundle, so that's pretty much a no-go. As far as I know, people just won't be willing to buy them separately so they can jam out on Rock Band.

Sora, where are you buying your SD cards? I just found a 2Gb SD card from Patriot memory for $9.

I agree, SD cards are dirt cheap these days. Nintendo could easily implement them without concerns about people being able to afford them.

Seriously, if a manufacturer can't get SD cards for around a buck a piece, they deserve to go out of business.

I dont know i have always prefered GH to rockband and now that it is going to have drums and vocals i would much rather have the GH version. The only thing that RB has that i really like is the character custimization but its not worth buying both.

I dunno, I have high hopes for this game. Vicarious Visions has done impressive work on lower-end consoles in the past; GH3 is just one example of many. Rock Band may have the advantage on other platforms, but Harmonix screwed themselves as far as the Wii goes. Seven months late and nothing to show for it. It's pretty much a guarantee that GH4's feature set will be more impressive than the WiiS2 Rock Band, even if some of the features detailed in the trailer won't be included. Even so, I have faith, I think Activision/VV will get it right.

By the way, you can use normal SD card (i.e. for MP3 players and digital cameras) on the Wii. This isn't some proprietary card.

I enjoyed playing my friends' copies of GH3 on Wii, but unless they implement DLC, I'm not going to be buying 4. Sure, playing along to "Talk Dirty to Me" or "Paint it Black" is fun the first few times, but once you've heard the song a bajillion times, it would be nice to have some new songs.
