Early last month, we found OFLC listings for two import games: Gley Lancer, which has since been released in Europe and Australia, and Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa. A release of the obscure platformer anywhere outside of Japan seemed incongruous enough, but now, bafflingly, it's planned for a North American release as well, though there's no guarantee it'll show up any time soon. Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa, in case (for some reason) you aren't familiar with it, is a Famicom Disk System platformer starring a baby with a rattle. Both Gley Lancer and Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa are now rated by the ESRB, along with non-imports City Connection and Alex Kidd in Miracle World. Unfortunately, there's no sign of Gley Lancer's Hanabi Festival cohorts like Gradius II, Star Parodier, and Cho Aniki.

I was wandering if they brought these games out if there would be a new system on the virtual console for the Famicom Disk System.

Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa was also eventually released in cart form, which is probably the version we're going to get.

@1: I agree. And let's have them throw Star Parodier in as well. I'd much rather have a little hanabi festival in the US than WiiWare at this point. Don't get me wrong, I like having the WiiWare games. I just really want Cho Aniki and Star Parodier.

I remember renting 'Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa' from a local independent video store back when businesses still did such things as "rent NES games"... it was a powder-blue (I believe) Famicom cartridge with an adapter on the end. It was labeled "Mario Baby". I had no idea, of course, except that it was Japanese and for all I knew back then it really WAS an unannounced Mario game to be eventually ported over. The latest Japanese gaming news, at the time, was pretty rare... ;)
