Nothing shows Dad your life-long appreciation more than kicking his butt at Super Smash Bros. Brawl, further affirming to him that he is now a lost soul in a whole world of new technology. Well, that could be the case, but plenty of parents have proven their dedication to gaming in the past, so the chil'n may not have the upper hand.
Stroll on down to the Nintendo World store in New York City on Father's Day for an official Brawl tournament, where fathers and sons will engage in battle, bond lovingly, and question each other's sexuality upon choosing Peach or Zelda.
Save any household fussin' and feudin' for the tournament, as pent-up male rage is set to explode in an ocean of umbrellas, star wands and banana peels. Nintendo is awarding two Wii consoles, two copies of Brawl and a winner's trophy for whichever dynamic duo takes the tournament crown. All the action goes down from 1 - 4pm on Sunday, June 15.

Wow, dad and I have been playing since SSBB came out. We got really good and won the tournament...so we get another wii and another copy of a game we already own...better be limited edition!

Ooh, read again closer...a pair of Wii's and Games for the winning team...which means Dad and I will now have a minimum of 3 Wii consoles and 3 copies of SSBB.....Wait, that's how Nintendo is going to solve the storage problem...we just need to buy a new Wii to store our VC and WiiWare on!

Amusingly enough, I could do this with my mother (who to this day is still a hardcore gamer), but not my father.

Play Brawl with my pops? I still don't think he understands the DVD player I bought him a few years ago. "What? The movies are on discs? What happens if they get scratched? Why doesn't the movie start when I put it in? Why are there so many buttons on this remote?" Yeah, that's not going to happen here.

My Dad kicks ass at video games, it's unfortunate that neither of us are near New York. But then again, we both have Wiis; only people who already have a Wii to practice on are going to have a chance to win the tournament anyways so it seems a little silly.
Also, is there any particular reason that an image from Super Smash Bros. Melee was selected for this posting? Not that it's problematic or anything but I was just wondering if it was an inadvertent oversight or an intentional decision.

Because its more possible that a father/old person have played the older version of this saga than the new one. Wich I think, why not post a image of the original one instead of the melee one, the posibility would had increased even more!!!!

I get that it's fathers for Father's Day, but does anyone else think it sucks that daughters can't come play with their dads?
