Next week, Silver Star Japan's Saikyou Ginsei Shogi will be joined on Japan's WiiWare service by a sequel of sorts. Another of their board game simulations (Silver Star is planning a series of six), Saikyou Ginsei Igo will be released as a download by EA Japan. Like Ginsei Shogi, this new game will be a Wii version of a traditional board game: this time, Go. It features 1-2 player modes, customizable board sizes and difficulty levels, and a hint option to help new players.
If you'd like to see a virtual board game being played, a trailer is available at the game's website. We're hoping for Saikyou Ginsei Crocodile Dentist next.

Please bring Go to the states... that would be a insta-buy for me, doubly so if it included a basic trainer/instruction.

If it has online play with a rating system similar to Dr. Mario, then very cool. I hope it comes to North America.
Without online play, however, the game is kinda pointless.

Is it possible to set the Wii to the Japan region to download Japanese Wiiware releases?

Nope, gotta get a Japanese Wii to start with. Of course, to play American games, then you'd need the Homebrew Channel or a modchip (oh noes!).

I would love both this and Shogi.
Anyone know if there's any good versions of Go/Shogi/anything else? There's a zillion DS games but it's extremely hard to tell if any of them are any good.
