IGN took in a preview session of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and found that it hasn't been abandoned in favor of Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels, the new hotness in yet-to-be-released lightsaber games. In fact, work is still being put into the controls, to the game's benefit. The control scheme uses motion controls effectively, delivering the experience of slashing in a direction and seeing the big shiny sword on screen do the same thing.
"It was easy to throw characters into one another, lift a baddy up into the air and then saber throw," said Mark Bozon. "The lock-on camera worked great for bosses, and even the 'tilt to the side' block with the Wiimote worked every time we wanted it to." Pointer integration has been added as well, allowing players to point and click around the environments.
They were able to test the controls in several single-player levels (including a Jedi temple) as well as the Wii-exclusive one-on-one fighting mode. That mode is also the subject of a spate of new videos, one of which can be seen above. Knock him out the box, Luke, knock him out!

Why are you cheering for Luke?
This is the dark side! (You are correct).
Seriously, I am looking forward to this game- it looks pretty fun. It will at least pass the time until The Conduit comes out. :)

I'll be quite honest. I enjoy Star Wars to only a certain extent, after watching this multiplayer edition I just feel it's so mundane. All the work put in should have focused solely on the single player campaign. The combat in multiplayer looked sloppy and characters were just flying around hoping to hit each other, what a waste of time... ppl are just getting razzle n dazzled by the flashing light sabers, pfff. As for the single player, it looks to be something, hopefully there is a good score of music behind it to push the adventure and that there is some level of difficulty to make it not seem hack n slash easy... ya, either way I'm purchasing it... Go Wii, E3 will be ours!

Wait, I'm confused, was it Matt Cassamasina (totally spelt THAT wrong), Mark Bozon or some kind of joke I'm not getting?

Kyle Katarn, Jaina Solo, Jacen Solo, and Plo Koon are all Jedi that have used Force Lighting. Most if not all Jedi have this ability, but choose not to use it as it is forbidden by the Jedi Council and considered by some to be a path to the DarksideEven Luke Skywalker himself is known to have used Electric Judgement, which is basically the same thing (except that it appears as yellow or green instead of blue or white). Also of note is the fact that strong Jedi can (and have) absorb and redirect Force Lighting back at Sith. Examples are Yoda vs Count Dooku, Yoda vs Darth Tyranus and Yoda vs Emperor Palpatine. Even Luke Skywalker himself did this and succeeded briefly against Palpatine before being overwhelmed by the Emperor's attack.
See http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Force_lightning
or http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Electric_Judgment
for more information.
The fact that Darth Vader uses it so much in this video is actually almost as surprising as Luke using it, as Darth Vader's usage of Force lightning was suppressed, due to the prosthetic arm he had fitted to replace a hand lost in battle with Count Dooku (like Luke's prosthetic hand, but worse), and after the disastrous confrontation on Mustafar. Vader could not channel lightning through his body for fear of damaging his cybernetic parts.
*end nerd rant*

Looks like dope controls, almost a sort of No More Heroes vibe (which graphically looked worse than this in some videos). I'm totally suped. On a side note, did you hear that Slick Rick got a full pardon from the NYC mayor recently? The government was looking to deport him (he was born in England) because of his previous attempted murder conviction. I hear that he's a landlord in New York these days. Imagine asking Slick Rick to come fix your leaky faucet? I'd have my vinyl and a sharpie ready.
