Darkeru from the Ben Heck forums came up with the idea for this beauty, and after months of "careful planning," finally finished his creation. It's exactly what you think it is; a mod that plays NES games on a NES game cartridge. What an ingeniously simple idea (though if we really think about it, our brains might implode).
The games are built into the portable -- ninety-nine of them, in fact -- which sounds pretty convenient. Other than that, we have nothing to say except that we're still gawking at this thing. Oh, and do want.

99 games? How would you even do that?! Emulation? That's amazing. I love the stuff fans can come up with.

Emulation is unnecessary. NES-on-a-Chip... Chips are tiny now, bung one of those in, hook it up to some NAND Flash memory (they're also tiny), place a ROM with a menu system packed with other games on that memory... Sorted.
This method would cut down on battery consumption (it's not CPU pretending to be another CPU which requires twice as many calculations a second), cuts down on hardware required and is also much more efficient.

That is genuinely lovely. If I had one, I walk around with it, switched on, in my hand at all times just so that when someone asked me about it, I could say things like, "What - this old thing? Oh, it's just something I threw together, you know..." and vanish in a puff of smug smoke. Or something.
