For you wannabe rockers out there that don't mind the lack of DLC, know that the Rock Band bundle for Wii is being sold through Amazon at a $30 discount, which brings the price down to $139.99. If you've got some friends who might enjoy getting together and playing, then this might be reason enough for you to pick up the bundle.
Even without the DLC, would you say this is a tantalizing price point for the package? Also, if you're on the fence, we'd suggest deciding soon. We've no idea how long this sale will last.

Wow. That's actually pretty good. You can even get the free super saver shipping. If they weren't totally screwing over Wii owners, I might even consider getting it. They announced that Rock Band 2 on the Wii isn't even going to have a lot of online stuff, which is a total slap in the face.
So, as long as they're treating Wii owners like inferior casual gamers who certainly wouldn't care about online functionality, especially DLC, then I give them the bird, and I'll encourage everyone I know to wait for GH4. Screw you EA (except Boom Blox rocks).

While it's not as good a deal as Amazon due to sales tax and shipping, TRU also has RB Wii for this price this week, on-line and off.

I still wouldn't buy it at this price. I can buy the PS2 version ($99) and get a PS2 at a pawn shop ($25-$30) for cheaper than this. Honestly, since they crippled RB for the Wii, it's pretty much the PS2 version on a different console.
Unless they reduce the price to the PS2 price, for this crippled version, I wouldn't buy it. I'm still waiting for GH:WT, that way my living room isn't swarmed with fake instruments.

They can drop the price to ten dollars for all I care. I'll be getting GH all day. Harmonix can take their gimped product and shove it up their corns.

Might as well wait for it to drop further since no one is buying it anyway.

If RB2 for the Wii wasn't going to be gimped you would think that they would quickly announce that since it would significantly drive RB1 sales. I would consider buying RB1 to have it now if I knew RB2 was going to use the same instruments and have the features I want.

I'm afraid that RB2 will suffer a similar gimped fate...too many clues are present:
1. The PS2 and Wii versions will be released around the same time, separate from the PS3/360 releases. It'd be so easy for them to give us another PS2 port.
2. They're releasing a Wii track pack--why bother if RB2 will have access to the DLC?
3. Harmonix has a smaller development team than Neversoft/Vicarious Visions, and they're releasing the game on four platforms by the end of the year. It's a frantic release schedule for them, and something's going to be rushed in the process.

For anyone who has multiple systems and wants the real Rock Band, it appears Amazon also has the 360 version for $150, which is a slight discount on the price as well.

My friend got this game for the Wii. The guitar and drums were broken out of the box.

I actually managed to pick this up at Target over the weekend for $106.24. They had the PS2 version on sale, ran out, and marked the Wii version as an "instant substitute" or some such thing.
Either way, I got Rock Band Wii for a little over $115 after all of the applicable government money-swiping.
Boulevard Mall Target Store in Amherst, NY if anyone is interested. Had one copy on shelf this morning.
