Fatal Frame IV: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse might not be an E3-related goodie, but truthfully, it's probably one of the best things we've seen this week. In the video above you can watch a trailer for this spine-chilling, oh-man-it-will-definitely-be-super-scary game, which is sure to please some of you that were left unimpressed by yesterday's Nintendo keynote.
What's even better, though, is watching others get scared by Fatal Frame -- which itself is only topped by watching people pretending to be afraid. We don't normally associate "Fatal Frame" and "fantastically funny" in the same thread of thought, but if you watch the Japanese TV ads that are also in this video, you'll understand where we're going with this.
Lucky Japanese gamers get to be scared on their couches as soon as July 31st, but the rest of us will just have to sit pretty hope this beauty gets localized soon.

See, this is what I wish Nintendo had made use of in E3.
They've got the games, why not show em to people. Even just the two minute trailer from this would have changed a lot of people's opinions yesterday.

Hot diggity we'd better get localisation on this.
The pathetic thing about watching the Japanese dude get scared is that I looked pretty much like that playing Resident Evil 4.

2 and 3 at least were localized (not sure about 1)
Since Suda 51 (who enjoys the Western markets), and Nintendo (who rarely fails to localize) are both involved in this project, i doubt it would get passed over even if the series had never been seen in the West

Fatal Frame (the orignal) was also localized -- for both the PS2 and Xbox. So yeah, it's pretty likely we'll see this one. It's just a matter of when.

PRETENDING to be scared? I dunno, that's how I react to scary games. I'm talking about the girl too.

I am so looking forward to this game. No one does "creepy" better than the Japanese, who figured out creepy is much scarier than buckets of blood a long time ago.
I fully understand why Nintendo didn't show this (or anything else that that isn't cute and safe) yesterday since the point of E3 is to get positive press coverage, and the press equates Nintendo with family fun. BUT - it would have been great to hear them say "And for those of you who think the Wii is only for children..." then showing Fatal Frame, The Conduit and Mad World clips.
Oh well - maybe next year.......
