The atomic bomb of a few days past has had enough time to send shivers of excitement over the entire Wii community, and now a groin-grabbingly atmospheric website has been delivered by Capcom, adding fuel to the fire of Dead Rising. Details are scant at present, but a number of Wii screens have popped up that look mighty fine.
We were hesitant to report the rumor of an over-the-shoulder, RE4-esque viewpoint being added to the Wii version, as the more "worldy" members of the Fanboy team didn't consider such a camera angle would be effective with Dead Rising's gameplay. However, a couple of screens in the new gallery show exactly that, with an on-screen aiming cursor and everything. Hey, it's a zombie-killing game, what could possibly go wrong?

There's a rumour of Lost Planet as well (pinch of salt). See this topic:
http://www.capcom-unity.com/ask_capcom/go/thread/view/7371/1029421/Why_Dead_Rising_over_Lost_Planet_on_Wii?num=10&pg=1
Sven replies interestingly on the 2nd page:
"Let's discuss next week. I can't comment until then when a bit more will be clear. :)"
With a Lost Planet movie on the way it could be a good time to widen the audience.

Boy, I hope they add a little more polish to this. Some of those screenshots make it look like a PS2 game.

dont care what it looks like, i just want to get my hands on it already!
i will always be a fan of motion control...even bad implementations - i guess i just enjoy a challenge, 'making it work', etc and there's a lot of fun potential in this game, so im excited.
as someone mentioned in a related article, my main concern is that wii wont be able to reproduce as many zombies on screen, at once, for it to be as atmospheric or effective as the original...

seems contradictory...just to clarify, i'm mostly referring to textures and the like in my first line

A solid graphical deduction, but the on-screen zombies seem to make up for it
Really, what i'm looking at is how they implement waggle for the diverse array of weaponry

There are more to games than graphics. In fact, back when a lot of us were your age, we had to play video games in TWO DIMENSIONS. And they were really blocky, not the nice hand-painted 2D you have now. and WE LIKED IT! Because THE GAMES WERE STILL GOOD!

What could go wrong? It could be Japan-only, that's what.
Which it currently is.
