The latest set of ESRB rating updates features two upcoming Virtual Console games, one of which is just kind of awkward. Namco's Splatterhouse 2 is making the journey from Japan, which is great news for people who like hitting things with a 2x4. The other game is also for a Sega console: Sonic the Hedgehog.Perhaps puzzled by how to identify the Master System version of Sonic the Hedgehog in their rating submission, since the two games are now both Wii games, Sega decided to put it right there in the title: Sonic the Hedgehog on the Master System. It would be hilarious if this ended up being the final title for the game on the Virtual Console, but we doubt that will happen.

When was the last time a noteworthy Virtual Console game was released? I'm thinking it was River City Ransom a few months ago. And don't even get me started on WiiWare. The only games I want are Earthbound, Mario RPG, so come on Nintendo~!

As anyone who owned the game gear can attest(The GG game was the exact same version as the SMS game), it wasn't THAT different. Definitely not enough that I'd ever plunk down 4-6 dollars for it. What was different wasn't exactly better.

Square-Enix... Ummm...Final Fantasy 1-6 and Chrono Trigger!
Konami.... NES Metal Gear 1 & 2, TMNT 4 and Dracula X??? Maybe even a version Of SOTN like all the other console's download services!?
Its soooo easy to make money on VC and yet the best titles aren't showing up!

What is wrong with some of you people in the comments? This game is a good platformer by 8-bit standards; it certainly is not a "Mario 3", but so what?
And not everyone likes RPGs. Some people need to realise that not everyone only likes the genres you do.
Basically, stop complaining. These are good releases.
