Over the weekend, Amazon and Gamestop dropped the price of Majesco's Blast Works to $20, which we thought was going to be the best Wii game deal we'd hear for a while. Then Best Buy stepped in and showed just how little money you can charge for Blast Works. They're selling it online and in-store for $10, but it's currently sold-out online. It should be in stores for a bit longer, since that requires some prospective buyers to go to a place. This is a very sad development for one of the best games of 2008, but it's really good news for people who have ten bucks to spend right now.

I saw that this game got pretty solid reviews. Is this just another casualty of poor marketing?

And if you don't have $10 to spend, buy it, and then just don't eat for the next week. It is that worth it.

Nintendo really needs to make sure that the rental shops are picking up Wii games. Too many games like this never hit as a rental, which hurts sales.

Yes, it DID say 9.99 before going out of stock. I wonder if they were changing the price and made a typo.

Wow... the game has been worth every penny of the $40 launch price I spent a few weeks ago, but this is incredible news.
Anyone interested in user-generated content or just shooters in general should really grab this fast. In fact, grab one for you and one for a gift - because trading is half the fun!

I just stopped at my local Best Buy, and bought it off the shelf for $9.99. And I had a reward certificate. Best deal ever!

I push very few games on my fellow gamers, but Blast Works is my favorite Wii game and I think more people should buy it. Anyone even remotely interested in shooters should get it. The level editor and online trading are amazing. I love Blast Works Depot!

Poor Majesco; doomed to make critically good, bad selling games forevermore.

Thanks! I just picked mine up. The display price still said 39.99, but sure enough it rang up at 9.99.

Still waiting for a release in the UK. I'm in Japan right now but when I get back I have a lot of games to play. I was hoping this would be one of them.

Got this at Gamestop for 20 bucks the other day and it's really fun. I'm only playing through on rookie at the moment, and campaign 5 is ridiculous! bullets everywhere... but it feels soooooo good every time you get a little further

I went to BB after work and they had a whole bunch. I bought two at $10 each and gave a copy to my cousins. Why? Because the fun is to build and trade stuff apparently.
Also I am betting that a ton of people got the game yesterday. In the evening I was unable to sign-up for the account, at around 11PM there was no problem :)

I just got my cheap copy today, but it appears I was lucky to. It rang up as 19.99, but they gave it to me at 9.99 because there were two tags by the game - one for 19.99 and one for 9.99 and now the website also has it listed for 19.99. Seems it was a temporary sale.

I just rushed over, and it looks like I got lucky as well. The game rang up for $19.99, but the tag still said $9.99, so that's the price I paid.
The past couple weeks have been great, with this and the TRU Zack and Wiki sale. Part of me is worried because it's not a good sign for third parties, but with $60 price points becoming standard for PS3 and 360 games, I love owning a Wii and getting deals like this.
