After some of the responses to yesterday's morning question, we thought it might be time to revisit something we've asked before: how many Wii games have you purchased? If you include renting and borrowing, how many have you played? Of course, this leads us to also ask ... how many "big" games (defined as you like) do you want to see Nintendo releasing for the Wii in a year's time? How many would you like to see released each month? Or, let's try it this way: if new Zelda, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Metroid (we'll include Samus for the hell of it) and Mario games were all released within six months of one another, along with, let's say, a Kid Icarus game, would you buy them all (assuming you enjoy all those franchises)? What if, in that same period, we also saw games like Fatal Frame IV, Madworld, The Conduit, Samba de Amigo, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Dead Rising, and more, would you get them all? Right away? Or would it take you more than six months to accumulate the funds (and time) to play them all? Feel free to substitute with games you prefer if these aren't to your taste.Of course, this isn't even considering WiiWare and Virtual Console releases.

It would take me more than 6 months to get them for this reason: I'm a parent of 2 kids, and they are a priority. Wii games are not.
These are the games I would get first:
- the 2 upcoming Star Wars games
- Kid Icarus
- Metriod
- Resident Evil 5
I'd consider Fatal Frame IV, The Conduit, Pikmin, and Dead Rising.
Not interested in Zelda, Samba de Amigo, or Animal Crossing at all.

...but don't kids like video games?
...soooo... doesn't Wii games add to the schedule with the kids?
Or are they too young?
Or is the Wii your own little treasure?
...and kids LOVE Animal Crossing games.
So do some adults, but it's definitely a great distraction for kids.
I luv Animal Crossing. (not the DS version)

I own the following games: Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros, SSX, Resident Evil 4, Wii Fit, Mario Kart
I shoudl have Lego Star Wars in a month and then the following SW releases.

I'd go with the third party games in this case, but only because these are titles that I am more interested now. I tend to mix my selection up. Infact, of my collecftion of 13 or so games, only 3 are made by nintendo. However, of the ones that aren't, some I've bought used, and most of the others were either in some sort of sale or special. Other than launch games, I've only bought No More Heroes and Zack and Wiki new. I feel as though I've bought all of the nintendo branded games I need, with maybe a purchase of Kart and Party down the road-- it's time for me to support the third parties for actually putting effort into good games!

I bought:
Twilight Princess
Red Steel (second hand)
Battalion Wars 2
Okami
No More Heroes (second hand)
Big Brain Academy
The Simpsons Game (and I regret it)
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Endless Ocean (was a Gift)
Super Mario Galaxy
Zack & Wiki
Mario Kart Wii (sold it after 3 weeks)
Lego Indiana Jones (sold it after 2 weeks)
and I got Zelda Windwaker Limited Edition with Ocarina Master Quest for GC even though I never owned a GC but I didn't want to miss out on one of the more controversial Zelda games.
I don't care how fast they release new titles, I'm one of the people that wants to play the game if it's good not only play it because it's new. I can't wait for a new Zelda, Madworld, Resident Evil 5, Dead Rising, Conduit and De Blob.
STFU leaves me completely unimpressed and rather upset about the lack of detail that seems to have translated from the powerhouses to the Wii. I'm sure I'll give it a rent if the reviews are good but I will not buy this game. Don't care about Animal Crossing or the other Casual titles, not really my type of game.
Strangely I still would like to get Wii Sports 2 and a decent sword fighting game once Motion+ is out. But that will still take quite some time. Like I said, I don't care when it comes out as long as it comes out.

I've brought loads of games - eight, I think - but only two of those games were made by Nintendo: Brawl and Mario Kart. I really can't be asked to make a list right now.
Due to the nature of the Wii, it's graphical limitations, unusual controller, it feels like every third party game I've brought is an exclusive - well, actually that's the truth. But now, for instance, I'm borrowing Pro Evolution Soccer from a friend, and the controls make the game unique; I'd say the controls make the game an exclusive title. So my need for Nintendo to produce games unique for the Wii is lessened. I'm currently satisfied with their output. But then again, this is my first Nintendo console since the NES so all this Nintendo stuff is new to me. Maybe someone who stuck with Nintendo through the SNES, 64, and Gamecube era, maybe a little peeved by the output - the amount of hostility is still a little surprising to me, though.

Wii Sports
Mercury Meltdown Revolution
Links Crossbow Training
Super Swing Golf (which I've been letting someone borrow for like a year)
Metroid Prime 3 (never even played it. Only bought it because it was super cheap)
Agh, I know there are a few more, but Hell if I can think of what I'm forgetting.
If we throw in games I've rented, I have no idea how long that list would be.
As for how many big releases I expect from Nintendo, I don't expect more than 3 or 4 a year...spaced out, of course, so we don't end up with a situation like this winter.

1. zelda wii
2. mario sunshine
3. no more heroes
4. metroid prime 3
5. resident evil 4 wii
6. smash brothers
7 red steel ( yes i kind of like it)
There are some other games im looking foward like the conduit.
There is something interesting for harcore gamers
http://www.engadget.com/2008/05/16/fujitisu-set-to-debut-amilo-graphicbooster-external-graphics-car/
This article is something very interesting especially in the graphic deparment. i know that nintendo cares more about the game factor but some of us just doesnt get the much nedded graphics power in some games. Imagine is this could be possible for the wii along with a hard drive conected to it it could be apreciated.

I've bought 10 Wii games and played probably 20.
Since there haven't been too many 'big' games since Wii's release (compared to Xbox 360 and PS3), I would like to see about ten released within the next year, five within the next six months.
Out of the games mentioned, I would probably get the majority of them but not right away because I like to finish the games I have before I start new ones.

I only have 4 games for the Wii, though there are a few that are on my radar, currently out now. Didn't help that I got a PS2, and a PSP afterwards either.
As for what I have:
Mario Kart Wii
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Paper Mario
What I'm planning currently:
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Super Swing Golf: Season 2
Games that dropped off radar (but were once on my list):
Okami
Baroque
Stuff I'm looking forward to:
Dokapon Kingdom
Tales of Symphonia 2
The rest either have too fuzzy release dates, or games that I need to see more of to come to a conclusion. But yeah, when you have more than one system, games suddenly seem very expensive.

Below are the games I currently own. As it is right now I have Star Wars: The Force Unleashed pre-ordered although I'm still debating whether to get it. MadWorld looks really sweet but I'm not sure if I could bring myself to spend $50 on it. Same for Boom Blox. I would also love to get No More Heroes at some point, but at a cheaper price. Metroid Prime 3 is definitely on my list...but I'm still finishing up Metroid Prime 2. I'm hoping that by the time I'm done with MP2, MP3 will be discounted a little, but I'd spend $50 if I had to.
I would absolutely love it (and would buy the game in a second) if Resident Evil 5 were released on Wii. Wii is my only system, so if it doesn't come out on Wii I won't be getting it.
Also, I can't wait to see what games Retro Studios and the Mario and Zelda teams come out with. I may get Pikmin 3, but I'll probably pass on Animal Crossing (I have both versions, but the series isn't my favorite and I actually like playing it on the go more than in front of a TV).

I can afford a game a year myself, but ask for gift cards at holidays and birthdays to pick up another one or two games. My Christmas list this year I'll be looking at the Conduit, Call of Duty 5, Guitar Hero 4. Hopefully the new Pikmin/Zelda titles don't make me re-evaluate cuz I REALLY perfer to support quality third party titles.

I tend to choose the games I buy with care: I'm married and if its a game that's good and my wife (a casual gamer) can enjoy it gets a boost.
I own:
Zelda: TP; Brawl; MP8; Prime 3; HPOotP; Chocobo's Dungeon; Wii Sports; Zack+Wiki. Of those all are gifts except Brawl, Chocobo, and Zelda.
I don't even consider buying a new game until I'm done playing through/beating the most recently bought one, so including VC (which I've got maybe 20 games for) it comes out to about a game a month. So considering the upcoming third party games I think I want for next year, and current titles that I still need to play I'm not too annoyed at seeing fewer first party Ninty titles.

I only have:
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Order Up!
Zelda: Twilight Princess (borrowed)
Wii Sports
Rayman Raving Rabbids
Monster Truck Arena
I'm going to buy Star Wars: Force Unleashed and Animal Crossing when they come out, and I'll probably get 2-3 gift cards for Christmas, so I'll probably end up getting Super Mario Galaxy (really want to get it) Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles (with perfect shot) and who knows what else. My Christmas list is 20 games long (all wii games).
As far as future games, I'm excited by a lot of games, and I will plan to buy them once Christmas is over with (when I don't have to save up for presents), but I won't spend the money on them until they've been out for a few days and I get the review on them. Except for Star Wars: Force Unleashed and Animal Crossing, because I already know those are going to be awesome. Here's the list of games that I'm really excited about this Fall:
Guitar Hero: World Tour
Samba De Amigo
Spore
Star Wars: Clone Wars
Star Wars: Force ?Unleashed
Wario Land: Shake It
Spiderman: Web of Shadows
Animal Crossing: City Folk
Wii Music
H.A.W.X.
CoD: World at War (don't know when it's coming out)
The Conduit (don't know when it's coming out)
And I would only buy a Mario/Zelda/Metroid/Kid Icarus game in the next 6 months if all the reviews were outstanding. We just saw Mario and Metroid, and Zelda and Kid Icarus should take longer than a year to make a good one, so I don't think that any of those would be even decent games if they pushed them out the door by Christmas. I don't want to see any of those until next E3, and then I only want to see a preview. I think a good time to pull them out would be Christmas '09 or Spring of '10. Then they'd be extra amazing.

I hate when games did that during the early part of this year, you had games releasing left and right and without any money for me to buy them, I felt like I would lose half of the games.
I would probably make Zelda and Mario a priority before The Conduit and MadWorld, though I would still buy them all. After this year's E3 I feel as if third-parties are slowly starting to realize Wii's potentials and are releasing some great, original, and graphically impressive games onto the Wii.

In the 7 months I've had a Wii, I've bought:
-Mario Galaxy
-Zack & Wiki
-Wii Play
-WarioWare
-Guitar Hero III
...and I've borrowed Zelda Twilight Princess.
Also I've bought from the virtual console:
-Metroid
-Sonic
-Cybernator
-Gate of Thunder
-Pac Man.
Currently my wishlist includes (more or less in this order, and not counting WiiWare or VC releases):
-No More Heroes
-Metroid Prime 3
-Okami
-Super Paper Mario
-Lego Star Wars
Of course, that list could change (depends on the final reviews) when the following games get released:
-The Force Unleashed
-Guitar Hero World Tour
-Fatal Frame
-The Conduit
-Mad World
...and any new release of Zelda or Metroid.
I usually play no more than 2 "big" games at a time, and I also like to finish them before starting another, so I never buy games on day one. Thus, if you ask me, Nintendo can take as long as they want in making their new games. As you can see, I still got a lot to play in the meantime.

I like a constant trickle of quality games so that when I have the money and the desire, I can pickup a couple that interest me. I'm playing Okami right now, but I have Battalion Wars 2 and a used copy of Madden on the way (to see if I like the control scheme on the Wii). It doesn't really matter to me if the game is brand new or has been out for a little bit, because it's new to me. So I tend to balance my purchases of games between older games that I haven't gotten yet and new games just coming out. I'm looking to pickup Sam and Max and Madden 09 in the near future, but I'm also interested in Boom Blox, Zelda:TP, and MP3.
Video games going on sale is also a big incentive for me to act. BWii went on sale, so I decided to buy it now, even though I probably won't play it until I finished Okami.

I'll be adding Samba de Amigo & Wario Land: Shake It to the collection in September. I may also add other games but pretty unlikely

Diverse collection, but I could see a couple games that you could add to that collection, based on what you've already bought. Of course, I don't know which of them you've enjoyed. :)

I own......
NOT ENOUGH.
Still got a list of things that I haven't gotten yet, yet want so badly. (I'd rather not name my list since I own a handful of regretful buys)
That includes Zack & Wiki, BWii, and Boom Blox.
Yeah... I totally missed out, and still am...
*sigh* Owning 3 systems gets very hard to juggle.

Oh, and seeing that I awkwardly worded it, let me clarify:
Zack & Wiki, BWii, and Boom Blox are in my "MUST HAVE" list.
The ones that are regretted will not be mentioned 'til I can rid of them.

I own 13 games: 7 first-party games, which are all enjoyable, and 6 third-party games (the good ones are No More Heroes, Zack & Wiki, Blast Works, and RE4 while Elebits and Sonic aren't so great).
The Wii has been criticized a lot for its lack of third-party support and I think that this is rightfully so. In my opinion, the third-party games that I own right now are the only third-party games available that I would enjoying playing (does that make sense?). In other words, there are no third-party Wii games on store shelves right now that I would enjoy playing that I don't already own.
But, with Nintendo's current line-up, it seems that third-party games are the only ones that I'm looking forward to. The strange thing is, we seem to have a large surge of quality third-party games on the horizon. Fatal Frame 4, Madworld, Samba, Conduit, and Tales of S2 are on my "Likely Buy" list currently.
Wii first party games are incredible. Mario Galaxy, Metroid 3, Brawl, and Twilight Princess have provided some of my best experiences in a decade of gaming. Since the next half of '08 and likely the first half or so from '09 has shown a lack of titles such as those from Nintendo, I think that these promising third-party games are enough to tide me over. I just hope that the Mario, Zelda, and Pikmin games that were hinted at during E3 weren't just blowing hot air.
