- Total third party sales for the Xbox 360 since launch is currently 67,929,999 units, followed by the Wii at 33,394,311 units and the PlayStation 3 at 19,976,325 units.
- Third party sales for the Xbox 360 since the launch of the Wii and PS3 is 54,065,728 units, still almost double the Wii's 33,394,311 units.
- If you take the total number of units sold and divide that by the number of titles released since November 2006, the Xbox 360 and the PS3 are selling more units per title on average than the Wii. This puts the Xbox 360 at 217,252 units per title, the PS3 at 156,065 units and the Wii at 132,517 units.

My, that's some interesting spin on the part of M$. 54 million is not almost double 33 million. 12 million is a bit much to round up. And averaging out units to include the shovelware... just shameful. He may as well include the average scores of all games, include piles of shovelware. People don't play every game on a system, they play the good ones or the ones that appeal to them.

Who cares. You buy Nintendo consoles for the 1st and 2nd party titles anyway. Sure, you get the occasional stand out 3rd party title, but everyone knows Ninty rules their own roost.

Note that for games released before 2006, they are not counted as a title for 360 but their sales from Nov 2006 onwards are counted as a sale thus artificially increasing the units per title for 360.

Were these numbers released too after SoulCalibur IV came out? Did that help them at all?

Nintendo put out a chart compairing the first 20 months of each consoles third party sales.
Microsoft put out TOTAL( an extra plus year) data for third parties, and how much Microsoft has sold since the Wii came out.
Both of Microsoft's numbers have no direct correlation to Nintendo's chart.

All is fair in PR War
However, time-frame trends are more important than overall totals. The 360's first year was mostly in competition with the PS2, and doesn't reflect the nature of the current generation conflict as well
Now, it would have been more fair if Nintendo's chart had depicted the sales on 360 from the Wii's launch, so you could look at the pair of 19 months in a good timeframe

Sony: "I can rub my tummy AND pat my head at the same time!"
Microsoft: "Oh yea! I can jump up and down, rub my tummy, and pat my head at the same time!"
Nintendo: "Oh screw you, I can do a jig, bake a pie, rub my tummy, and pat my head at the same time..."
WE DON'T CARE. JUST MAKE US GAMES AND STOP PAYING PEOPLE TO HAVE A PISSING CONTEST THAT ONLY 12 YEAR OLDS WHO CAN'T AFFORD MORE THAN ONE SYSTEM CARE ABOUT!
I bet these idiots get paid more to make useless graphs and create deception than I do, doing an honest day of full work in graphic design. Geez, what pathetic qualifications do you need for that job?

The wii is failing in my opinion. Its not hard ware sales that make a console the best, its Games.

Good for you Ninty. You were the first to eat up a market that buys a console for one pack-in game. $250 and done. And sometimes that's one Wii for the whole freaking retirement home.
Face it, unless you get back to pleasing that core audience, you will lose it all together and this brilliant new territory will be tapped out. Then, that prolific install base will mean jack-shite cause they buy a slim fraction of what your core audience will buy.
Thank goodness you make a profit on Wii consoles...

To be fair, 360 is consistently getting the better 3rd party titles. A small handful of big budget Wii efforts even exist, while there is a continuous train of them on PS3/360/PC
At this point, Wii still doesn't outnumber PS3+360, and when that fact changes, you may see somewhat of a shift
However, at that point, the Wii might be too far gone to get many developers to focus on developing high-budget games for it

Just a clarification question. What exactly do you mean by "too far gone"?

Well, if they stopped giving us the sh1t they give us, we would buy more third party games, or if they will be ports, at least make good port with new things, like House of the Death, Resident Evil 4 and Dead Rising: Chop till you drop. Those are ports and are great games.
Also, why don't you put some effort on your games like what Platinum Games are doing to madworld, or going even furthert than anyone has done like what High Voltage is doing, or give us new concepts for games like Suda51 did with No More Heroes.
We buy games, not sh1t.
Also, as far as i can see it, PS3 and 360 can only be supported by third parties, as 90% of their games are third parties while nintedo is only a 80% or 70% of his total library

well yeah, what he says makes sense since everyone just wants a wii, because thats the cool thing, they don't want it for the games, because, well, there aren't any games to want a wii for.

It's hard to argue that the Wii has a lot of crappy 3rd party titles, but as the developers start being creative the Wii has more potential than on the other systems. MotionPlus should help out greatly.
