Development for the new game, titled Overlord: Dark Legend, will be handled by Climax Studios. They're aiming for a 2009 release, and the producer of the game, Dean Scott, assures that this is "an all new game, designed especially for Wii," with a "new story, new characters," and "new gameplay." Based on his brief chat with IGN, it sounds like a majority of the game will be a pointer-based affair, with gamers using the Wiimote's IR sensor to direct their horde of minions. And what about those minions?
"It's the same four minion types, but we've given them new abilities," said Scott. "Some of these may be themed around bodily functions that childish folk like us find hilarious."

And in other news, game developer Codemasters was recently put under investigation by several police organizations and NBC's Dateline for breaking child labor laws by hiring so called "childish folk" who enjoy poop jokes. More on this story as it develops.

While not a great game, Overlord was at least a fair game. The good thing about it is that it's not another kiddie game for the Wii. We're talking playing evil dudes.

Wow! These graphic are great for the Nintendo 64- wait. It's Wii? Aaaaaaaugh! I played a demo of the PS3 game. It was boring. :P

Get the RTS feature, make it a fable 2 like game with wiimotion pluse sword fighting and maybe 'll consider this game

Heck I liked the game. I've always wanted minions. I liked the RTS and RPG combination.
It had few annoying things like I couldn't figure out why my minions would stop, then I accidentally knocked over a wall - problem fixed.
It was not forgettable for me.

Overlord sounded like an interesting idea that wasn't quite realized, so maybe they've had an epiphany and this one will succeed.
