Go Nintendo's RawMeatCowboy recently received an email from an anonymous, shadowy figure calling themselves "rabbits can't be sad." That's pretty weird, but stranger still, the email contained something we almost never expected to see: footage of Nibris' "vaporware" title, Sadness. Despite the unconventional method of its delivery, it definitely looked like the real deal.
We say "looked" because now it's gone, pulled down by RawMeatCowboy, who (we're guessing) was asked to remove the footage. In his amended post, RMC simply writes: "Sorry for the inconvenience, but I unfortunately have to remove this post. That is all I can say at this time."
So after being relentlessly mocked (not least by us), has Nibris actually been making a game all along? Really, really slowly?
[Update 1: Some enterprising soul grabbed the footage before it was pulled, and added it to YouTube -- thanks, DaisukeKiriyama!]

Darn...and the clip couldn't be snagged in time to spread it far and wide. *cries* I keep hoping every day that this game is still for real out there, somewhere, in the hazy world of development. This and Disaster Day of Crisis.

"Sadness", indeed.
In a way, I hope this IS vaporware. How can any title live up to the buzz this alleged game has generated? Die young, stay pretty.

2009, the year of the Wii. I'm so stoked at all these titles coming out, and there are others not yet announced and they will blow our socks off. How can I say that? Easy, developers are now actually working to produce something worthwhile rather than regurgitate the same BS, clearly there is a abundance of great games releasing that I can only assume will sell well and with that anyone that wants to make money is going to take a different and correct approach. Watching what E.A has done in response to RES 08, so fantastic... the bar is finally being risen.

Thanks DaisukeKiriyama and nicolas!! I agree, not really sure what to think of it, because you really can't SEE much...but I sure as heck DID see the big SADNESS introduction screen. So, I'll take it with a smile and feeling that the game IS still being made...quietly...behind the scenes...ready to be sprung on the Wii community when we least expect it. :-)

Looks legit enough, but the third-person footage means we can't scrutinize it further
I mean, unless there are other games that look very, very similar to what we just saw, but the only thing i can think of is ico, and they were both kids, and the guy led the girl around in that

i'd like to think that nibris never stopped production. How many times have you played a game that could have been ten times better with proper testing? How many times have you been pissed off because a high profile game was delayed 4 times? Maybe, just maybe, nibris has learned from others mistakes and alotted the proper amount of time for a game that could very well be ground breaking. But then again, maybe not. I guess any group letting productivity rates drop to improve quality is a bit far fetched. Did anyone else play alone in the dark or read about fatal frame 4? yeah...
