Remember that rumor we posted regarding Tatsunoko vs Capcom? Well, Capcom is saying that the title might not be destined for the United States (does this imply all of North America?). In fact, the possibility of the arcade game coming over here is situated somewhere between slim and none.
Of course, this doesn't answer questions regarding the Wii port of the title. If the game does get ported to Wii, and released in Japan, homebrew aficionados will have little problem enjoying it on their console. For the rest of us that want a localized version, however, we should probably stop holding our breath.
Tatsunoko vs Capcom? Don't expect it in the U.S.

... :( As expected.
We rarely get crossovers from Japan.
... sometimes it's a good thing, since most crossover games are poorly made. But this... this looked fun. :(

Take a look at the Super Robot Wars games that aren't Original Generations. Fantastic games for the mecha fans.
And don't forget Namco X Capcom as well.
Besides all that, I'm disappointed that this may not be localized. Guess it's time to homebrew.

I was actually thinking of a great bunch of RPGs that had a bunch of other RPG characters... of which Japan has millions of.
I'm kinda' glad they didn't come though... many people said they sucked.

The way Viz Media's been gobbling anime rights up, i wouldn't be surprised if they owned most of the NA licensing by now anyway
If not, it would be licensed by either Bandai or Funimation, so it wouldn't be that hard to sort out

There are many more companies that could own the rights to those characters. The 2 you mentioned are just more known and Capcom has stated that the licensing outside of Japan for this game would be very challenging. It would be very easy if it wasn't so spread out but sadly, thats not the case. I hope they do figure it all out because the game looks great and the mix of charaters brings back so many childhood memories!

Well, some Capcom USA dude recently said that Marvel Vs Capcom 3 may be coming soon.
I wouldn't be surprized if behind closed doors, Capcom got the Marvel lisence back. Thier Bionic Commando engine would be great for just about any super hero game (Spider Man, Hulk, Iron Man, etc) not to mention the fact that the Vs game remain the most well recieved Marvel fighting games ever.
Expect Marvel Vs Capcom 3 on the Wii this holiday season.

You'd have to fight against Activision to get that license back, and only like 4 companies are capable of doing that: EA and the 3 manufacturers

Actually, it was a big wig at Marvel that made the comment "Yes and sooner then you think". I wouldn't count on this Christmas unless the announce the game very soon and that its almost complete. They will likely use the T Vs C engine but I think you'll be dissapointed if you're hoping to have it this year on a home console.

Good thing they are talking about the arcade and not a possible console version

I just saw a video of this last night, it looks really awesome, definitely the successor of the Vs. Capcom series. Also get your hands on Street Fighter 4, it's ridiculously good.
