But that doesn't mean there isn't hope, though it might come from a very unusual source. Putting together the bits and pieces regarding Renegade Kid's mysterious new game reveals what might, might be a game about Dracula. At least, it's probably not Batman.
It's taken a while to get to the point, but never fear -- here we are. If Renegade Kid, the minds behind the great-looking Moon and the great-playing (mostly) Dementium: The Ward are putting together a game devoted to Dracula, and it just happens to be for Wii, as it seems, will this assuage disgruntled Castlevania fans? Or is it not so much the ghoulies and ghosties who matter, but instead the gameplay? If the latter is true, not much else will do.

I think you answered your own question there, and I doubt anyone would answer differently. Though, I do play Mario for the Fungi and Reptilian flair.

Castlevania is (almost) all about the gameplay. I'll admit I love the Gothic themes and settings though. I'm interested in Renegade Kid's new game, but I don't expect it to quench my thirst for blood... er... Castlevania.

Back when I was in high school and was a weird goth teen, the vampires, skeletons, undead, and altogether gothic theme was enough for me. But I need more than just the setting now, I need the gameplay that has been standard on all the 2-d Castlevania games from SotN on. If it wasn't for the gameplay, I very much doubt that I would have played any of the newer games at all.

Anyway, if it's a fun game and it focuses on GAMEPLAY, like the Castlevania games do, then I'm sure there's a reasonable chance that I'll enjoy it.
