Disaster: Day of Crisis officially dated in Europe
Nintendo's favorite new tactic of discussing its games really, really close to release (see also: Wario Land: The Shake Dimension, Captain Rainbow) has extended to Disaster: Day of Crisis. Two weeks ago, Nintendo had to reassure the world that the game was still being made. Now, it's announced it will be coming out in Europe next month, on October 24th (falling in line with earlier speculation). That's a pretty rapid turnaround!
The announcement on Nintendo of Europe's site also explains more of the backstory in the game, as well as the inclusion of "Survival Points" and "Battle Points," which can be used to hone Ray's abilities, giving the game an (extremely light) RPG element. If you haven't already, dodge that oncoming tsunami and leap heroically into our new Disaster: Day of Crisis gallery to see more!

That's really...I don't know what to feel about this.
I only buy one console game a month and October was saved for Fallout or Fable, but now there's this. Hmm. I might have to pick this game up during December or maybe even next year.

I have a similar policy, broken only in times of severe need (like last November's Galaxy + Radiant Dawn)
I just hope they date it soon in North America, lest i have to give Gekko Region Free a try

Well I've only been to one and it was either in Jalisco or Aguascalientes, don't remember. But it had games and this was like three years ago. I don't live in Mexico but I go like twice a year to visit family.

That is until you find out NA gets it in 1 week. :D I'm joking, but that'd be hilarious.

Actually, we also got Mario Kart Wii, Endless Ocean, and Super Mario RPG early. It's almost as though Nintendo regards Europe as relevant now.

I don't think I like this new policy of announcing games THIS close to release. It makes it seem like, "Oh, here's a game, guys".
...it's not very fun.

So, a game centered in the U.S. with a U.S. marine might be released in Europe before North America?
Actually, these details have me less excited about the game, particularly the rails aspect. I knew it was going to have some element of a shooter but I was hoping for more of an adventure game focused on surviving the disasters. I'm not saying it looks bad, but I'll definitely wait for a host of reviews before purchasing. (Fable 2 and Fallout 3 seem to be pretty reasonable gimme's anyway.)

Ok, wonderful... now give us a release date for Project HAMMER already. Nice to know that 2 of the original 4 games I originally bought a Wii soley for are either just NOW coming our or cancelled.
BTW, games I was interested in were Metroid Prime 3, Excite Truck, Project Hammer and Disaster.
