It makes us think that these rumors are the work of an overenthusiastic Wii fanboy (not to be confused with Wii Fanboy) and not the kind of professional reviewer who would be playing Mega Man 9 right now. For example, he says that the game may come out on the 22nd, or it may be delayed due to a very big VC title -- which seems very much like the kind of thing you would say if you were making up stuff to try to get people's attention.
The tipster says that Shooting Star Rockman will be a downloadable character, which makes sense given his placement on Summer Festival merchandise alongside the original, and that Proto Man will also be playable, though he "kinda sucks." Other DLC bonuses include new title screens, Mega Buster upgrades (three-way and homing shots), and new conversations with Auto. Also according to the rumor, Capcom may be looking into some in-game way to earn the DLC, to reward hard work.

Besides maybe Chrono Trigger.
I don't believe any VC launch could be any bigger then Mega Man 9 for Nintendo right now, concidering the success of Bionic Commando on PS3 and 360. Nintendo would have to realize that there's big money to be made by Mega Man 9.

If it's fake, the faker did a really good job coming up with plausible downloadable content ideas, because I can totally see most of this happening. Of course, having said downloadable content be potentially free seems a bit suspicious, but hey, I can dream.
Oh, and saying the 360's d-pad sucks isn't fanboyism, that's just true. Don't get me wrong, I love the 360 and I think that overall the controller is the best conventional controller ever made, but man is that d-pad horrible.

The 360's D-PAD does suck. I can't play Bionic Commando for shit on my 360.

He's right about the 360 D-Pad, but the PS3 D-Pad is great for sidescrollin'. Nonetheless, I still think Wii's is the best.
I'll decide which version to get when I see prices (in case they're different), and once reviews mention any differences between versions.

How can you NOT expect the PS3/360 versions to feel tacked on? They're ports of the Wii version. It's obviously going to be superior in some way, even if it is minor.
In any case, I felt the news of the the big VC release was pretty important. It better be EarthBound.
