Not being a real Animal Crossing fan, and not being that impressed with The Conduit, I'm in the probably not camp.
Voice chat was fun way back then with Halo 2 and Top Spin, but Live quickly binged out on hate, eating and destroying itself. It's a thoughtless wasteland now. I can't be asked to jump into another cesspool like that.

Friend codes should help alleviate the cesspool
Being about the only thing they're good for, anyway.

I am looking forward to being able to chat with the people in AC while messing around in their towns or them mine. It will bring a new level of interactivity and depth to the genre that has been missing since the GCN.

If it works in The Conduit, then I'm "in"...
It'd be nice to have it in CoD:WaW, too...amongst other things...
I'd also like a water fountain-type attachment that makes chocolate milkshakes and feeds it to me, while we're at it...

quite frankly, i couldnt give a rats intestinal fluid about wiispeak. i never really liked voice chat, unless its used for tactical purposes.
Anyone who has played call of duty would know what im talking about when i say im sick of 10 year olds screaming down the mic, it just never appealed to me, but maybe ill buy it for the conduit, who knows?

I'll probably get it when a game comes out that uses it.

I'll probably get it when there's at least one game I'm interested in announced for it.
Currently, however, there isn't.
...maybe they'll patch Brawl to take advantage of it...

and the lag will be so great the wii will explode creating a black nova which will slow down everything it touches

It would be cool if they added support for WiiSpeak to the Home Menu so that older games could use it too.
I would love it in Brawl. I never have lag in Brawl, so it wouldn't be a problem for me.

I'm not really interested, but if the periph was packed by itself for $19.99 or less I'd pick it up.

Anybody else think this looks like the receiver for the 360's big button controllers?

I suppose I'll get it, if it comes bundled with AC: CF. Otherwise, I'm happy with the "virtual snail-mail" thing that Animal Crossing's known for.
I mean, If I really wanted to hear my friends voices, I'd just give 'em a call on the phone. (heh heh)

If the average gamer of a 360 is said to be in his mid-twenties and what you get on XBL is the 13-14 year old fallout insulting each other ... and the average Wii gamer is said to be between 10-14 years old what do we get there? 7 year olds that call each other bitches? I think I'll pass.
Maybe for conduit but only if there are clans and proper online gameplay. Don't even bother to try to make voice work if it impacts the performance of my game.

yeah... i doubt i'll be getting animal crossing any time soon, but i'm desperate for a new shooter and so i'll definitely be picking up the conduit when it comes out. maybe i'll get it then, we'll see. voice chat has never really been all that big of a deal to me anyways.

To me, it kinda looks ugly. Imma wait till Logitech (or some other 3rd party) makes a better looking alternative.

This is ridiculous. You guys whine about how Wi-Fi games lack voice chat, and then as soon as they give it to you you complain that voice chat is annoying?

Well, it's not that we don't like it, it's just that Nintendo hasn't said if it works with the friends modes of games pre-Animal Crossing Wii... I mean, it's plugged into the system, so it SHOULD work with ANY online game...

never played animal crossing, so no desire there...i am interested in the conduit, but i'm afraid of being laughed at by people half my age for my lack of mad skillz, so i think i'll wait for a compelling app.
unless...un_less, the device can be used to essentially make free phone calls to people on my address book who reside outside of my home and/or native land.

I have the previous two Animal Crossing games and will likely pick up the Wii version and Wii speak. But After being spoiled by how much easier the game is to play on a portable system, go back to a home based system that I probably won't have time to play every day isn't that appealing.

I'll probably get the $70 AC:CF bundle. But I am debating about whether I should get the WiiSpeak mic or a headset.
I'll probably just wait and leave WiiSpeak in it's package and wait to see if other headsets work though.

I am looking forward to getting Wii Speak, but I'm waiting for some more games to support.
I love Animal Crossing, but I'm likely going to pass on AC:CF. I'm not sure that I can make the time commitment required to playing it on my TV (playing it on the go as in AC:WW is the best option in my opinion).
I'm also not sure if I'll be getting The Conduit. While it looks and sounds great, I'll probably wait for (hopefully) more FPS games to come.

I'm not getting wii speak or animal crossing. I don't like the idea of a group of people in the same room talking at once. That could be really annoying. I would get animal crossing but i really hate the fact that you have to play almost every day or else your town will get weeds, people will move/complain that you were not there, and become a pain to play. I had the GCN one and i don't play the DS one very much for that reason. I will, however, be getting The Conduit as it looks like a promising title.
