We believe the technical term for this is "a no-brainer."
- Bomberman Blast -- WiiWare -- 1,000 Wii Points
- Plättchen Twist 'n' Paint -- WiiWare -- 1,500 Wii Points
- Midnight Pool -- WiiWare -- 800 Wii Points
[Update: Plättchen footage has just entered the building -- hit the break!]

I am looking forward to Bomberman, it sounds like a pretty impressive version of it.
Any idea if Gyrostarr will ever make it to Euro VC?

I don't know whether to buy the WiiWare version of Bomberman or wait for the disc version. Is there any information on the release dates yet?

Fuck yeah.
I was going to buy Wild West but I soon discovered it wasn't a light gun game, so I was left with all these unused points. But Bomberman: I haven't played this game since the Mega Drive.

I haven't downloaded it yet -- how's the online play?

Online is really smooth. There's no glitches or lag. Going from the results screen to a new game takes a little while, 20-30 seconds or so - or maybe I'm just so antsy to have another go.
It's eight players online, so it can be a little frenzied. But the best thing is that four people can join an online game. I've only tried two so far, but I'll try four later - maybe. The Miis look a little goofy, though - in a fun way.

According to that video, there's a TON of content in platchen. Don't hate on it until you've tried it.

Bomberman - same console 8 player gaming. I'm still stunned by that...has there previously been a single console 8-player game?
(Bust-a-move Bash doesn't count b/c it was horrible)

Not sure about 8 player but Bomberman 95 and Battle Loderunner on Turbographx and VC had 5 player through a mix of wiimotes and gamecube controllers.
As an aside, it's a shame Nintendo forced BPlus to drop the Donkey Konga Bongos support in Plättchen as we could have had some 12 player madness rather than the 8 player party mode that replaced it.

Bomberman on the Sega Saturn had 10 player bouts on the same console. And it was pure dope, too. I'm sure there have been others. Were EA's NHL games 8 player on PS2? I can remember playing with four or five people using a multitap, and I imagine you could use 2 multitaps if the game allows. I'm sure there have been other games, too. Hell, I almost bought a Saturn off of ebay the other day just to relive the 10 player Bomberman bouts of old, but then I remembered that this was coming out.
