EA has released a new trailer and screens for their Sim spinoff SimAnimals. Like the initial assets released during E3, this trailer, while putting on a happy-go-lucky face, illustrates a game almost exclusively about being a total jerk to animals.
"Oh, look, a happy little bear cub with his family," the interior monologue of the imaginary player seems to say, "Let's kidnap him! I wonder if bears eat squirrels? I wonder if this bear cub can swim!" The floating, gloved hand continues to disrupt the lives of once-peaceful forest residents like that while the narrator cheerily describes how much fun it is to interact with animals. This is horrifying.

Well lets see. The CG trailer looked fun, and lifelike. Very well done. Reminds me of early Pixar flicks. Good show.
Now, after seeing this fun, playful, living world on the trailer, I clicked over to the screen shots of the ACTUAL GAME.

Wow. Nothing better than Deer that look like they were coarsely chiseled out of stone, and trees with low-rez textures.
O, wait. Its the Wii. Therefore developers think that they can get away with shitty visuals.
I see.
Way to go EA. Way to NOT push any kind of limit with your new game.
Good job.
I'll be over here, dusting my Wii, waiting for a decent game to come out for it....

Dusty!? Your Wii should not be dusty when the wonderful world of Super Smash Bros Brawl awaits you! Go now, and buy the game with incredible visuals. If you have bought it... PLAY IT NOW.

I did by it. I 've got games for the Wii, no worried. Mario Galaxy, SSBB, RB, Zelda.. Just want something else. Something that doesn't look like somebody puked all over it :/
And yes, now that you mention it, I will go play some SSBB :D

To think they're actually spending money on this when we desperately need SimCity 5 just makes me mad.

However, this game will sell over a million copies because it's EA, it has Sim in the name, and people love destroying the lives in animals when it comes to simulators (because in real life, animal rights activists will freak out).

The first part reminds me of the intro to the N64 Super Smash Bros., where Master Hand arranges the dolls.
But that's just me.

I feel sorry for the devs. Some EA suit decided this would be a good idea and doomed a studio to churn out dross like this for X many months. Poor bastards.

After MasterHand is defeated, he floats over to the forest to pick on the animals.
