Famitsu serves up Monster Hunter 3 screens, deets
With the Wii desperately struggling for survival in Japan, it needs a big title to turn things around, and if there's anything bigger (in Japan) than Monster Hunter, we're yet to clap eyes on it. Monster Hunter 3 was trumpeted as a Wii exclusive almost a year ago, yet it's only now we're hearing and seeing anything substantial about the project.
Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and director Kaname Fujioka granted an interview to Famitsu, in which the pair describe how the switch from PS3 to Wii prompted a major overhaul, including a large number of fresh monsters. Set on an unexplored island, the new game will prominently feature underwater sections, where several monsters hang out. Some creatures (such as the game's main monster, a huge dragon) will be capable of surviving on land or in the water, and can be successfully hunted in either environment.
Tsujimoto and Fujioka also touched on what promises to be Monster Hunter 3's most appealing mode: online play. As in the PS2 versions, this can be played with four player groups, and there are lobby areas (in the form of a "city") that can be developed and expanded by offline play. The game makes a playable appearance at the Tokyo Game Show, so we should learn more soon.

Glory Be...
I haven't been this hyped since the announcement of Wario Land. Looks glorious, 4 player multiplayer reminiscent of PSO, an actual lobby system
Must contain my enthusiasm, since this one'll probably be a while

lol you beat me to it khan....i was going to say it was reminiscent of PSO, and my lord is that a good thing.
i started playing PSO like mad when it became free through sctthack servers, but i stopped playing for ages now. so something similar to PSO (maybe with a little more depth in the story and combo dept) is a godsend

I am so incredibly pumped for this game, although as far as I know, it has not been confirmed for a US release yet... :(
The four player online mode on MH for PS2 made the game fantastic, glad they kept it.
Aaaaah I can't wait!

Ugh, I am so pumped for this game! I was beginning to worry since there had been a total lack of news/screens since it's initial showing. This is going to be awesome and I'm glad its coming back to the consoles for now (the psp ones are/were fine too though), I just hope they include an option to play it with remote or classic-controller, so that veterans of the ps2 one can still feel at-home with this version.

Anybody wanna guess how many millions will it sell? In Japan 2009 I think only Dragon Quest IX can beat it so far (at least until Zelda - Oboe of Space is announced)
And lets face it, Capcom gets the Wii. Resident 4 and UC, Zack and Wiki, Megaman 9. Because of that I have faith in the online (and as mentioned by others, because it reminds me of PSO). But will remain cautions untill I see it in action...

this game is going to be AWESOME!! i'm definitely getting this when it releases! although i'm a little worried that it MIGHT (notice how i've capitalized the word "MIGHT") not be a Wii exclusive title. can anyone confirm wether it will or will not be an exclusive?

looks great! glad to see they've added completely new mechanics (underwater combat!!!) and are adding new monsters! i'm just hoping this might see a ps3 release because i'm afraid of gimped, tacked on motion controls and because monster hunter's beautiful landscapes would look amazing in hd. but if it properly takes advantage of the wiimote, then it's a buy. actually swinging a long sword would be great! and motionplus support would make it amazing!
sorry for ranting guys! :)

MHF2 isn't a game, it's an experience that just sucks you in and doesn't quit till you've put 150 hours into what you realize is the most repetitive gameplay you have ever enjoyed all the way though. But hey, you've got Siegmund, an Onslaught Hammer and full Rathalos Soul U so life is good.
God I loved MHF2 more than any other portable game ever (Maybe sans Pokemon) and I didn't even play it with multiplayer. Capcom must release this in the US, if there ever is such a game to appeal to the "hardcore" crowd, this is it.

I just hope they don't take any content out (like areas, different weapons, different armor, and that side-game on the farm where you grow and gather stuff). I have MHF2 and it is an awesome game, so i really hope that a wii version will be just as good.
