Attractive Environments Hunter 3
Hunting for monsters in Monster Hunter 3 (tri-) might prove trickier than we thought, considering how pretty and distracting the environments are (they're not exactly small, either). Track monsters? No thanks. We'd rather go inspect that balloon, or browse at those market stalls, or dip a toe in that lake.
These shots come from the game's just-opened official site, which also contains some concept art of monsters, including Rayburn, a dragon that can exist on land or underwater. Here he is, in fact (we think)!

Never played Monster Hunter, but I've wanted to for a while. The lack of online in any of the current North American releases is keeping me away, which is why I'm really really excited that Monster Hunter 3 is online on Wii. :D

I may be a fan of MH, but I'll stick to my psp if I want to play it, the Wii is only going to kill the game.

Honestly, this game is gonna ride on name alone.
The Wii is gonna kill the series since everyone will be playing ranged hunters, the Wii has proven before constantly it cant handle fighting games, look at soul calibur and bleach, both suffer because of the wii's lack of ability to sense motions accurately.
I'll stick to the psp versions, thank you

Who said it had to be motion controlled?
I could imagine light controls a-la Twilight Princess, or none at all, a la Brawl.

Seriously how do you know how the game is going to play before it's out? The wii is going to kill this game? That wouldn't be a very smart move for Capcom, who kind of have a history of publishing good wii titles (See RE4, Zack & Wiki, Okami, RE:UC, etc.)
We don't even know the control scheme yet, and you're already saying that it's going to fail because there are some games with crappy control schemes.
You're a troll, get lost

@cursedsei: uhhh monster hunter isnt a fighting game.. neither was soul calibur on the wii.. but yeah actual fighting games like guilty gear xx accent core and smash bros work fine on the wii with the classic controller.. which even if these guys hadnt confirmed it.. id imagine that capcom would allow that to be used.. durrrr

yeah says you. then again who cares bout what you have to say. MH for the PSP is AWESOME, that i''ll agree on. but saying that it'll die because its on the Wii is not only stupid but it is also incorrect. first off it doesn't have a tba for JP. 2nd what if it comes out a little after the Motionplus is released? and what if it utilizes the motionplus? then that means that the swordplay would TOTALLY AWESOME! i suggest using your head before posting a comment you CLEARLY haven't thought through. dolt.

Considering the PSP has less buttons, I'm sure Capcom can make the game work just fine without the need of waggle.
Although I do expect waggle fishing akin to Twilight Princess. Best Fishing Control Implementation Eva!

The game has been in development for a while, the motionplus was just recently announced. Yes there is a chance that Capcom could implement motionplus to aid with melee, that would be great.
Part of why i think the game will not do well might be because it was originally aimed towards the PS3 (I feel it belongs there, not on a toy "console").
I love the series, always have, I have thought about how the game would play if it uses the motion sensitivity for melee, and i dont like that.
If you noticed the games i listed, the major fault was that being sword games at heart, they required you to swipe and jab with the wiimotes, yet many times the system would confuse one for the other, or rather assume you want to only do one move. I hope they avoid using the motion sensitivity for the melee combat, or keep it limited to certain things. Ranged combat? Fine use it, but I'd rather not be playing with my friends and end up nailing them all with my hammer and sending them flying cause the wiimote couldnt distinguish what I was doing.
Oh and sam, Okami was developed by Clover studios, not Capcom, and was for the PS2 so before you start listing off games, make sure all the games are from the same company. :P
Sorry, but before calling someone a troll, try thinking beforehand instead of following blind fanboism. You can call me a troll, but I'm a fan of the series, and I am heavily against the series moving to a less than next gen system. Capcom should of stuck with the PS3 and stopped whining about how expensive it is to develop for it. That deserves more trolling than me :P
have fun typing in friend codes and not talking if this game goes online, lets see how far you'll get against the heavy hitter dragons :P

first off the Wii is no toy console. the only reason you and your ilk consider it to be a toy console is because DEVS are constantly making casual games for it. i admit that the Wii has SHIT LOADS of casual games. i also admit that its not the most powerful of the next gen consoles. BUT next gen does not stand for "super mega hyper ultra power house console". look at the graphics or RES4 Wii Edition. its graphics are a bit better then the GCN RES4 and the on screen zombies have not been reduced at all (i should i took time out to count them all between the two consoles). its just as everyone says, the Wii is an untapped gold mine just waiting to be tapped into. to say that a series should not move to a weaker console (or a toy console as you say) is not only stupid but it is also childish to say. and like i said. it might utilize the motionplus. but what else might it utilize? maybe the Wiispeak if it gains enough props. once again my friend save yourself the embarresment that i can rain upon you and THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK (or type in this case). Wii may be a console that a lot of kiddies have but i bet any amount of money that if it got more CORE games then it will PUMMEL the competition.

Wow, trolling AND uninformed. If these gay lovers knew anything about Monster Hunter, they'd already know that Nintendo has signed on with an online service-provider in Japan to allow for the old style of online-gatherings, AKA: meet in a lobby (city in-game) with others then sign up with quests off the quest board. Secondly, there has already been discussed and announced the compatibility/option to use the classic controller instead of remote/nunchuck so they could avoid alienating the returning ps2-players as much as possible (and for those that didn't want to use motion controls). Seriously, you trolls are just getting horrible at what you do. I might as well just stared at a picture of pure crap, then posted this same response because you guys are completely clueless, idiotic and uninformed about what you post . Where do you pull your future information from? Go read some magazines or online-report articles idiots.

well i for one am glad that they decided to put the option of using the classic controller. still if it IS indeed announced that MH 3 IS compatible with the Motionplus then i (as well as millions of others i'm quite sure) will definitetly be using the Wiimote. still i habor no hatred towards others that wish to play using the classic controller.
