For those of you that didn't really mind the news that Banjo-Kazooie would be making its way to the Xbox 360's XBLA service and not the Virtual Console, know this: the experience won't be the exact one you remember. In the XBLA version of the game, all references to Nintendo and the N64 have been removed from the game (save for the Game Boy shown), based on the video leaked above. In-game, N64 logos have been replaced with updated Rare logo and Microsoft Game Studios labels. What should be interesting is how TipTup is represented in both games, as Nintendo apparently owns that character.

So much for Rare saying that the game will be completely intact right down to the Nintendo references. I kinda think they'll find a way to keep Tiptup in it, don't see how they can easily replace him. It's important to note that in the character selection screen, Banjo is still playing an original Game Boy. Obviously they haven't removed every reference. I wonder if in Tooie, Bottles' son will still be playing with a Donkey Kong doll, haha. Maybe a Master Chief action figure?
I do notice they did a quite of reworking. Not only does it show proper 360 controls (unlike, say, VC games), the graphics definitely look cleaned up. And trust me, I can tell, I was just playing the N64 version a few weeks ago.

Yeah the graphics are cleaned up quite a bit. I just got done beating the game again about a month ago.

Oh well, at least it hasn't been butchered beyond recognition like say Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts!

Uh, you can see Banjo playing a Gameboy when selecting a game save.

Its a strange new world we live in, though this isn't without precedent, if you remember WaveRace 64 for VC (totally not sponsored nor in any way associated with Yamaha)

I guess that Microsoft lack of handheld console makes no matter to put a GameBoy in a Microsoft-exclusive game. Simply because there's no competition between Nintendo and Microsoft in handhelds.

Why would Microsoft tell a company it owns to make a game for a system they don't own when they put out a perfectly good system of their own?

*sigh* I hate you rare. I really... Really hate you.
I really, really, really, REALLY hate you. Since you fuckers sold your god damned souls to microsoft, now I can never play the platforming awesomeness that was Banjo-Kazooie.
Some of the best overworlds and collecting styled gameplay, it was pure greatness... I remember begging my friend when I was 10 to let me play his copy when I was over at his place.
And now I'll have to buy a whole nother console if I ever wish to play it again.
Fuck you rare, this isn't the whining of a bitchy fanboy, this is the disappointment of a gamer who grew up on your games and will never be able to honestly experience them once again.
...Bunch of fucking bastards, GIVE IT BACK TO NINTENDO YOU ASSHOLES! YOU OWE THEM FOR YOUR SUCCESS!

No phil, that is the whining of a bitchy fanboy. If you're such a gamer that grew up on Rare's games, bust out the 64 and play it as it was meant to be played.
