It's been a while since we previously enquired, but as this blogger restarted Pikmin 2 last night (and naturally can't wait for the follow-up), we felt compelled to ask again: what was the last GameCube title you played on your Wii? Did you miss being able to waggle?

It's actually been a long time. Melee was always in and out of the Wii before Brawl, but now Brawl's taken it's place. I'd say the last one had to have been Mario Sunshine, a rerun after i beat Mario Galaxy

The last GameCube game I played on a Wii was Super Mario Sunshine on my friend's Wii. She wanted me to complete some levels of it, saying that she wasn't going to start Galaxy until she'd completed Sunshine. But I embarrassed myself as a hardcore gamer by not actually being able to complete the level she wanted me to; the one where you have to role that Giant Melon down the hill without breaking it. Gggrr!!!! That game was too hard.
The last GameCube game I played on my Wii was Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg funnily enough (imo the most underrated game of all time alongside Pac Man VS), I just put it in and had a quick blast for nolstalgia purposes.

The trick to that shine is rolling the melon along that pathway that's higher up, towards the juice bar, until it starts falling. At that point, get it up with as much momentum as you can so it overshoots the Plungelos that are on the grass near the mirrors. Before doing any of that, kill all the Plungelos that are on the sand near the juice bar itself

Well, the Gamecube game that's been in my Wii for the past few months has been Tales of Symphonia.
I'm eagerly awaiting the second installment as we speak.

I visiting my village in Animal Crossing the other day. The Villagers were yelling at me for not coming to see them for 43 months. I still have a cramp in my Weed Pulling finger.
I think about how much easier the game will be (hopefully) with the Wii controls.

I routinely have people over to play TimeSplitters 3. It still looks great in 16:9 480p.

Last game I played was Killer7 on the Sunday just gone.
A big reason why I got a Wii was due to backwards compatibilty. Catching up on all those - cheap - Gamecube games was a big incentive. Plus, it gave me a chance to replay the greatest 3D platformer of all time: Sonic Adventure 2.

I'm actually playing through RE4 right now. I was going to buy the Wii Version, as I have never played the game before (sacrilege, I know), but then I discovered that my roommate owned the GameCube version and I borrowed it from him in the interest of saving a couple bucks.

I highly recommend you change your mind about that one. I wouldn't say this about many games, but RE4 on the Wii was a completely different and better experience. Spend the $20-$30 and get the Wii version. You'll be happy you did.
To answer the question, I never had a Cube so I have enjoyed playing through some games that I missed on that system. In the past few months I have played Tales of Symphonia (loved it), Fire Emblem (loved it), Wind Walker (liked it a lot), and Eternal Darkness (liked it). I was playing Double Dash until the Wii version came out. I still need to play Mario Sunshine, but having gotten around to it.
I have never played Pikmen or Animal Crossing and don't know if they are for me. I haven't decided if I should try to track down a used copy of the old games or rent the new games when they come out to form an opinion.

I on the other hand do not agree. I have both versions, and didn't find the Wii version any more interesting (nor the controls). Waste of money for me in the end. Either one should do the trick though; great game.

I'm still a semi-new Wii owner, in fact, still something of a new Nintendo gamer. So I've been playing a LOT of Gamecube games on the Wii to catch up.
Recently? Alien Hominid, Baten Kaitos (both), and Zelda Windwaker.

The only GC games I ever play anymore are Viewtiful joe (and VJ2) and Ikaruga.
Viewtiful Joe because 5 years later and it's still a great game to play after a crappy day and Ikaruga because it helps me get into that sort of zen state of mind, actually. I find it quite relaxing to play.

Its a toss up which I played last as I was tired, but it was either Mazza Sunshine, or the original Resident Evil. definatly the best in my opinion. To be honest, my Wii gets used more as a fancy gamecube than as a Wii.

Having missed out on the PS2/GameCube/XBox generation of games, I've got a whole back library to run through.
Right now, I'm almost finished playing through Eternal Darkness, and Tales of Symphonia will be next (in preparation for the upcoming Wii sequel). I love backwards compatability!

I picked up the Mega Man GameCube collection last week, so I've started that. $8 for 10 games! Before that I was playing Star Wars Rogue Leader (Rogue Squadron 2) which I still find to be a lot of fun! All the Mega Man 9 talk got me to go check out the MM collection and a recent article on this site made me pop in the Star Wars game. I have many GC games I hope to find the time to go back and get into again, and every time I'm at a store that sells used GC games I take a look because there are some great games at great prices available!
BTW, is it just me or is the original Mega Man game pretty hard?

Mega Man 1 is really hard. I died like 20 times in the gutsman stage in the moving platforms part. The good thing is that after that part the rest of the stage is pretty easy...
Also, mega man 1 in the AC is even harder cause you can't jump with the A button...

If you get the chance, try playing the Wii version sometime down the road. You wouldn't think the controls should make a big difference... but it's like night and day between the GameCube/PS2 version and the new Wii-make. I'll never go back.

The last one I played was Melee, about 2 weeks ago. I occasionally play Melee and MK:DD, although MK:Wii is definitely the most played game on my Wii. A few months ago I finished Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.

Killer7 was the last NGC game I had in the Wii. Before that it was Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes.
And no, I didn't miss the waggle. Movement and gaming don't really mix for me all that well due to extreme laziness and the tiredness of my body after standing/walking at work for 8hours 5 days a week.

This question should be "when was the last time you played a Wii game in your Wii."
Seriously, Brawl is the only Wii game I play anymore, other than Virtaul Console/Megaman 9. But on the gamecube front, I've been trying to get through the titles in Mega Man Anniversary Collection along with trying to finish Skies of Arcadia. I've also played a bit of Majora's Mask on the Collector's Edition.
Also, Pikmin 2, oddly enough.
And no, I didn't missed the waggle.

what with the dry spell of games for us *ahem* non casual gamers, i've been playing waaay more GC games than wii games on my wii.
The Zelda compilation, Wind Waker, my GC version of Twilight Princess, PM 1000 Year Door, SM Sunshine... yeah. I don't really miss the waggle as much as I miss longer games that are hard/fun to play.
but i'm totally booting up pikmin 2 now that i've read this post and am thinking about it.

I play Need for Speed Most Wanted like it's my job. I've beaten that game about 10 times now and I still get the urge to restart it about every month and a half or so.
I also like Windwaker and Twilight Princess.

F-Zero GX. I'm undertaking the stupid task of beating Story Mode on all difficulties. Good lord.
Waggle is not missed. And if F-Zero gets a Wii sequel I will hope for no waggle. Or at least multiple control schemes, unless they get it right, but the game is generally waaaay too fast for motion control to be feasible.

I've been playing the crap out of 1080 Avalanche. Most of the game is about as good as the reviews would have you believe, but the Gate Challenge mode is awesome.
I have also spent more time playing GC games on my Wii than playing actual Wii games. But at least I'm playing SOMETHING on it, which is more than you could say for my 360 back when it worked. :P
