I haven't gotten it yet :o( but I plan on getting it. I've played all of the mega man games prior, so I can't miss this one. Money's just a little tight (as I'm sure it is with most people) and if I didn't have a wife and kids, and had to choose between the game or food, I would choose the game. But, I have a wife and 3 kids.

Of course I got megaman 9. But it's SO HARD!

I bought it the night it came out and I must say that it met every expectation I had for it, including an insane level of difficulty. Luckily, I'm not foreign to the wonderful 8-bit genre of gaming (I still own an NES among my vast collection of games and systems), so I went into the new Mega Man knowing that there was no way I could finish it anytime soon. In fact, I've only passed through one stage. Haha! Despite the brutal nature of the game wanting me dead at all times, this is one of my favorite new games. Hopefully, I'll be able to complete the game before I retire.

I'll probably pick it up after i'm done with Wario Land, in the rather sizeable gap between that and Sonic Unleashed
Is it Mega? Megakat, Megadetonator, Mega belly flop, Megas XLR, Mega lightning bolt, Megaman, Mega Drive

I love it. It kicks my ass hard but I can't get enough. It's like bondage but without the sex! Easily one of my favorite games so far this year.

It is harder than MM2 for instance, but I'm sooo sick of comments about how hard it is. It's 8-bit -- you'll die a lot, just figure out the patterns and you master this shit in no time. Christ.
I wanted to get the Wii version but they took out GC support like retards. (I have a Saturn pad with a convertor for PSX and GC, so guess which system won.)

Very true. It's all about pattern recognition and memorization.
This game really brings me back to playing MM2 to death with my younger brother and father back when it came out. This game was executed beautifully and I've enjoyed the limited amount of time I've logged thus far immensely.

It's as mega as Mega Man gets. Brutal challenge until you get the stage layouts and enemy patterns down.
I bought it on Monday and have almost 3 hours logged in my save file. Finally made it to Dr. Wily's stages last night and I'm still loving every second of it. Haven't found all the robot masters' weaknesses yet, but the weapons in this game are quite possibly the best set of weapons in the series (even if the boss designs aren't).
Color me very, very impressed.

I got it on Monday evening but didn't get to play it much until last night because of school work. So far I'm not doing too well, but I'll get there. They seemed to bring back the difficulty since the games past MM3 seemed way too easy to me. It's everything I hoped it would be. I just miss being able to slide.

It's hard, but not TOO hard.
It's like, you know Mega Man can do the jumps, or kill the boss, but it's a matter of if you, the player, are good enough. You're totally in control. I've never found a part in the game that is just totally unfair. Hard, but not unfairly so.
My first time through the game was 1 hour, 15 minutes. Second time? just under an hour. Working on that 45 minute achievement.

Oh man... I have it... and it is destroying me! I haven't beat one level yet! I have only even made it to one mid-level boss... the rocks that fall... argh! Why does it make me want to toss my WiiMote through my TV?! I used to rock Mega Man 2... I can beat Ninja Gaiden blindfolded... but Mega Man 9 seems to make me it's *****! That is all...

Actually, I believe that's in Jewel Man's stage, not Concrete Man's.

Just to follow up... I've finally made it to a boss! Splash Woman... almost beat her too! I guess I just need to play more and practice... like the good ol' days. ;)

all you guys saying its extremely hard are obviously not old school gamers. mm9 was slightly challenging the first time through, but once you memorize stuff and know what weapon to use, its just like all the other games out there. im currently at 40 minutes beating this game but i need to use my r coil in more creative places to get any lower.

I love Mega Man 9. Its everything I ever wanted in a Mega Man title. In fact, I really believe this game has the best level design and best boss AI of any of the 8-bit Mega Man games. The levels and bosses are challenging, but with practice you can take them all down without getting hit (I'm nowhere near that point). I know some of the reviews said the weapons were not that creative, but I think they are better implemented than any of the previous Mega Man titles.
My only gripe is that I wished the graphics and sound had been pushed up a generation to SNES levels, but thats a minor, minor gripe. The gameplay more than makes us for it.

I got it on the Wii - it just seems better suited to the Wii's controller options. Of course I'm struggling with the game's difficulty but it's frustrating in a fun way.

I used to laugh at the idea of having wrist straps on the Wii remote, but now I realize that it wasn't just for butterfingers playing Wii Sports; IT'S FOR THIS G*D*AMN MOTHERFREAKING SUNUVAB*CH GAME!!!
I haven't even beat a single boss yet, but I will stick with Plug Man's level and countless Game Over screens - and I crack up laughing the whole time
This is definitely classic gameplay: Play a level, death, death, death, then breeze through the parts that seemed impossible at first until you're stuck on the next. It's great, I love it, it's amazing.

Or Splash Woman. Her stage is a little bit harder, but she's pretty easy to beat with the default weapon. (That is, "easy" in MegaMan terms, of course.)

Much as I love the Wii's controller, I got it on PS3 because my PS3's hard drive has more free space than my Wii's internal flash memory (and I can use my NES pad with it via USB). GIVE US A STORAGE SOLUTION IWATA! Either way, I'm enjoying it, and I've found it's much more difficult than MM2, which I've nearly got beat. Perhaps I just need more time and practice. but I haven't gotten to a single boss yet.

It's a Megaman title. It certainly is.
I find it a little strange that the levels that are the most difficult to get through have the easiest bosses. 20 minutes to getting through the bloody thing, not even 20 seconds to defeat the boss.

The difficulty exceeded my expectations. The level design is SUPERB and maybe this is one of the best NES megaman games so far (even though it's not really for NES). The only letdown in the game was the music (only 4 or 5 good tracks in the whole game, they could have done it better), but I can say confidently that the level design is the best so far in an 8-bit game (hurts to say because I'm a huge fan of the NES antecessors...)
I mean, if they decided to make a MM2 clone in the 7th generation, it should have been THE game... With a soundtrack as good as it was in MM2.
Well, the game is really good and I really recommend it (even for people who never played MM games, this could e actually a nice start despite the difficulty), but the simple fact that it's 8-bit is kinda frustrating. Maybe the only letdown in the whole game. After all, what is the meaning of making a game like this nowadays? There's no style, just copy and paste. Before the first screenshots were announced I was crossing my fingers for the graphics would blend 8-bit with other effects like lighting and hi-res shots...

I was expecting to be playing this on XBox Live 5 days from now, but my brother surprised me, and MegaMan 9 is now the first WiiWare game we've purchased.
I only got one chance to play it so far, but it's a refreshing challenge. Going to play some more after I eat breakfast.

Okay. The game and I share a love-hate relationship. It loves me, but I hate it (not 100% hate, I hate like 25% of it)
There are a few things I dislike (no widescreen=BURN-IN BOX), and there are somethings that it was made for me to dislike (ConcreteMan's stage, the first one I went to, looked seemingly harmless - then came rocks)including how F***ING HARD IT IS!!! But, I like the art style, I lie the challenging-ness of the game, and I like that there will be dlc in the future (I thought I could download ProtoMan right off te bat. For me, I give the game 7/10

Quite literally the minute it went up on WiiWare, I was downloading it. I loves me some Mega Man. I managed to finish it on Tuesday night. I think it's harder than the other Mega Man games.
It's fantastic. xP

I downloaded it last night. So far I've beaten Concrete Man. (I didn't realize he was supposed to be one of the tougher bosses - according to one of the comments above.) I find the difficulty to be somewhat rewarding, because once you finally make it past a difficult section it feels like you have actually accomplished something.

Hardest game I've ever played and I usually give up on games that I couldn't get passed. I'm glad I don't do that anymore!
I've so far beaten Galaxy Man and the other stages have wiped me out so many times. I'm going for the "NO COFFEE BREAK" challenge so I guess it's understandable.(I could win if I could use a damn E/M Tank!) I'm glad MM9 has them[challenges] and if a game like The Conduit and others do, I would be so happy.(When I get my 360, i'm gonna be such an achievement whore)

I really don't think it's any harder than the the first three MegaMans (4, 5 and 6 seemed to each get progressively easier). I just got it a couple days ago, and I'm at the first Wily stage (Stuck at that dang part with the three lavas. I think I have an idea how to get past it, but boy is it an insane-sounding idea. Of course, if that fails, I'll really be stumped).
I'm liking the game very much. I still wish it had slide and MegaMan 8's style bolt system, but I've gotten used to how it is. I'd rank it right up there with my other favorites, 2, 3, 8, and Network Transmission.
