A challenger appears: Sonic the Hedgehog

The speculation about the inclusion of Sonic the Hedgehog in Brawl stretches back as far as discussion of the game itself. Between various early confirmations and the outcry of fans around the world, it seemed like a sure thing... but we still had to wait until last October for the news. Some called it the Wii's best day ever, and even many of those who'd outgrown Sonic fandom felt a little twinge of nostalgic joy at the announcement.
