May 13th 2007 10:17AM @Tim, They wouldn't do that because their devices do little more then provide a network interface for the storage they contain - all the heavy lifting is done in software on your computer. I've been using an enclosure by AC Ryan that uses Ximeta chips for about 4 months now without difficulty. When trying to explain how it works to people, I tend to use the term "poor man's SAN" rather then NAS, because it gives you a better idea of what the technology is capable of.
