VC Monday Madness: SPOGS and King of the Monsters
There's two items for download on the Wii this week, as we receive one WiiWare and one Virtual Console title in North America. This week's Virtual Console download is an old favorite, so without further delay, let's get to the goods.

VC Monday Madness: Gyrostarr, Alex Kidd in Miracle World and Burning Fight
Another week comes and Nintendo dishes out more downloadable goodness. Yet again, we receive some WiiWare and Virtual Console love. Have you got a few extra bucks laying around? You're likely going to want to download at least one thing.
This week's WiIWare release is:
This week's WiIWare release is:
- Gyrostarr (1 - 4 players, 700 Wii Points)

- Burning Fight (NEOGEO, 1 - 2 players, 900 Wii Points)
The VC Advantage: Samurai Letdown
Consider this a sort of anti-VC Advantage, because it covers cheats that don't exist. If you're reading The VC Advantage and you own (or plan to own) the new VC release of Samurai Shodown, it's probably occurred to you to head over to GameFAQs and look for additional content that can be unlocked. If you've done so, you'd be pleased to find codes to unlock three additional characters. You'd then be disappointed after trying them, because they're in error. The Shiki and Zankuro unlock codes originate from Samurai Spirits! on the Neo Geo Pocket Color, and the code to unlock the Kuroko judge character is from the Neo Geo Samurai Shodown II. It's easy to understand how the NGPC codes got mixed in: search engines and other automated systems wouldn't be able to tell between Samurai Spirits! and Samurai Spirits (the Japanese title for Shodown), making mixups easy.
You're free to use those saved five minutes however you please!
The VC Advantage is a weekly look at the secrets inside games -- not just cheat codes, but assorted trivia and oddities. We aim to bring back the feeling of the hint columns from game magazines, except when we do something else.VC Monday Madness video wrap-up 6/16/08
Only one Virtual Console release this week, but it's a good one. We won't waste any more time talking about the game, so hit up the video above. If that's not to your liking, head past the break for more.

Only one Virtual Console release this week, folks. And, sad to say, it's not the best title around. To get a taste of the game in action, hit play on the video above. If you're more into reading than watching a video, head past the break.
VC Monday Madness: WiiWare and Virtual Console play nice yet again
Just as expected, we're given some WiiWare love, as well as a Virtual Console download, this week. There's also Ubisoft's Protothea, which you know we've had our eye on. If WiiWare doesn't tickle your fancy, there's also a NEOGEO game up for grabs. So, who's going to download what?WiiWare games available for download:

Even on a holiday, Nintendo saw fit to release Virtual Console games for download. And, we wouldn't be good at our job (or, trying to be good at our job) if we didn't provide you with your expected coverage. So, sit back, relax and enjoy the video above. Then, head past the break for the rest.
VC Monday Madness: WiiWare and VC team up yet again
Now, this is something we can get used to. Both WiiWare titles and Virtual Console titles releasing together, side-by-side? Totally awesome, if you ask us. And, on top of it, both of Nintendo's services are hooking us all up with some solid downloads today. With it being a holiday and all, we're glad Nintendo is providing us with some stuff to do during our downtime.

Possibly Wii-bound SNK Arcade Classics collection is awesome
SNK Playmore sent a press release out announcing the lineup for their SNK Arcade Classics Volume 1 collection for PS2 and PSP. There's no mention of a Wii version, but a Wii version is listed in the game's ESRB rating, and it was discussed at TGS. We hope it's not a mistake, because we love old games, and this lineup is totally hot. We kind of suspect that this isn't actually coming to the Wii, because of the 16 games on the disc, 7 are already available as Virtual Console downloads. Metal Slug, of course, is also available on its own disc. We have no issue with redundancy, but we doubt SNK would give people the option of either paying $9 per game or (judging by recent disc releases) between $15 and $30 for a whole load of games.
In terms of stuff that isn't on the Wii, the disc includes things like Shock Troopers and Samurai Shodown. Check after the break for the full, awesome list. Just imagine how much this collection would have cost in new Neo Geo cartridge form.

VC Monday Madness: StarTropics and King of Fighters '94
Today is a big day for the Virtual Console here at Wii Fanboy as Star Tropics makes itself available for download later on today. It's a title that one of our own has been looking forward to for quite some time. And, the title backing it up isn't so bad, as it's the first entry in the long-running King of Fighters series, King of Fighters '94.
This week's titles are:.

So, it's the final week of 2007 and what do we have to show for it? Frickin' Bubble Bobble is what we have got! It's enough for us, hopefully it'll be enough for you. But, on the other hand, the two titles available that don't have a bubble or a bobble in their name aren't that bad, either.
VC Monday Madness: Bubble Bobble, Light Crusader and Top Hunter
Today is a pretty sweet day for the Virtual Console, what with a high profile, fun game like Bubble Bobble hitting the scene. We can't wait to get our download on later, as we have very fond memories of playing the NES game into the early hours of the morning during our younger years. As for the other titles available, we can't say we're familiar with them, so we're anxious to try the "new to us" games.
This week's Virtual Console games include:
