Activision is still Dancing with the Stars

Although mediocre, Dancing with the Stars wasn't as terrible as we thought it would be. For a "dumbed-down Samba de Amigo," in fact, it wasn't half bad. That doesn't mean we're going to get our proverbial knickers in a twist over "part two", though.

Yes, the day has come for Activision to announce a sequel to the first game in the series, titled Get Your Dance On! this time around. You can dance as some B-list celebs such as Mel B, Apolo Anton Ohno, Joey Fatone and Jennie Garth, and pair up with instructors that only people who watch the show will have heard of.

Activision promises that the Wii version will have more refined controls than its predecessor, and will include "flair" moves that you can perform to get extra points (and to make yourself look extra silly, we're sure). Other than that, it's just Dancing with the Stars, so take it or leave it.

Wii Fanboy Review: Dancing with the Stars

I have to say, Dancing with the Stars was not exactly at the top of my list of most-anticipated Wii games. I wasn't really beset with a deep and abiding need to boogie across the living room to Beyonce and Paul Anka, but sometimes, we fanfolk buckle down and do what we have to do. In my case, that meant I had to get my dance on.

It would be an understatement to say that I approached Activision's Dancing with the Stars with some trepidation. The game had really nothing going for it in my eyes; I have no interest in the show, or dancing, or any stars, much less these, and at seven months pregnant, the only thing I want to shake is pretty much anyone who crosses my path. But once it got going, I was forced to admit that hey, this game really wasn't all that bad. In fact, as simple rhythm games go ... it was alright.

ABC News wants your Virtual Console questions

ABC News' "Be Seen Be Heard" is preparing a segment about the Wii, in which they'll be interviewing Amber McCollum, a product tester at Nintendo. In a very lazy Web 2.0 move, they're asking viewers to send in videos containing questions for Ms. McCollum.

So if you have any questions about the Virtual Console, please send them in! And if you happen to accidentally, you know, say the name of the site, we wouldn't object.

We personally want to know about the development process: are the games basically dumped ROMS or do they have to be reprogrammed for the Wii? If so, why? These are the best questions we can think of, because repeating "RONDO OF BLOOD" over and over again while staring intensely into a camera isn't a question.

What kind of questions do you have about the VC?
