Valentine's Day for the gamer in your life

Valentine's Day might be all about spending ridiculous amounts of money on crap sharing sweet moments with that special someone, but that doesn't mean that those moments -- and the gifts -- can't be tailored to your specific quirks. If you're blessed with a significant other with a particular gaming-related fandom, why not get creative and find gaming-friendly ways to juice up the holiday? Wii Fanboy is here to help, of course, with some holiday gift ideas for all the gamers out there who view the approaching holiday with the utmost dread. From the traditional candy and glittering jewelry to ... well, gifts of a more unique variety, we've got everything you need (if it's Nintendo-related).

And, for the really clueless, we've also got some handy tips on what not to buy. Valentine's Day gift-giving can be dangerous. You don't want to be beaten with violence when your S.O. starts opening boxes, after all.

A message for your sweetheart: Eat Mii!

Stumped when it comes to that super-special, unique Valentine's Day gift? Give your sweetheart tiny chocolate people! It's sweet, it's geeky and cute, and you can make Soylent Green jokes and get away with 'em. Paul Pape Designs is offering up little chocolate Miis for Valentine's Day. Each couple (available in milk or white chocolate, and any mix of genders) comes tucked in a little box that looks like a Wii and have little cinnamon hearts bursting from their chests.

Wiimote candy dispenser puts yummy in our tummies

If we had to make a list of things that we love, Nintendo and candy would both be pretty high up there. That's why we want one of these Wiimote candy dispensers. Sure, it can't actually be used to play games, but it dispenses candy, and that's the next best thing. Spotted at the All Candy Expo, these candy filled Wiimotes were made by a company called Au'some.

Au'some also has other Nintendo themed sweets, like the Mario Kart DS tire candies. Check after the break and you'll be in for a treat! (See what we did there?)

Thank you Mario! But your candy is in another mushroom!

We hope that the candy contained in these little mushroom tins is exceptionally delicious, for two reasons. First, as a default condition, we hope all new candy is delicious, as it should be. Second, everyone who buys this stuff is going to be in a rush to empty out the tin anyway, to display it on a desk, or use it as a shot glass, or fill it with paper clips or something. Maybe if you get it, you can put the candy in a Zip-Loc bag or something.

Surprisingly, with video game-related candy comes a video-game-esque method of purchase. FractalSpin is out of stock at the moment, so you have to preorder your candy. These items are $3 each and are expected to be in stock on October 4th.
