Wii Warm Up: Your dream mod

This Clerks Wii case mod from serial modder Ramon Stokes came straight out of left field, and its sheer randomness delighted us, even though the Metroid Wii above (also by the same chap) remains this blogger's all-time favorite. Alas, yours truly lacks Ramon's mad skillz (Pritt Stick remains a considerable challenge), meaning I'm limited to daydreaming about how my awesome Pilotwings Wii case mod would look. Reader, in my head, it is majestic.

What about you lot, though? If you could modify your Wii's tidy, white exterior in any way you liked, regardless of cost or a lack of talent, how would you want it to look?

Wii casemod makes a quick stop into our hearts

Ramon Stokes is clearly the go-to person when it comes to prettying up the Wii. First, there was this Zelda mod, then this Metroid mod, and after that this really great Rockstar mod. Now, he's at it again, this time with a Wii mod commissioned for Kevin Smith himself.

As you can see, the casemod features the four main Clerks characters on the front. The back has a View Askew insignia, and the Nunchucks are labeled "Kevin Smith" and "Silent Bob" (though we're not sure how Smith would manage to play as himself and his movie persona at the same time).

This beauty was commissioned as a Christmas gift for Kevin Smith, and took about 60 hours to make. Well done, Ramon; you manage to impress us time and time again.

More pictures of this mod can be seen after the jump!

Temperature-monitoring case mod for the Wii

Evolving from the designs of Team Xtender's past mods, the ii-Hot Rock case aims to do more than just light the Wii with colorful LEDs. The $62.95 shell comes equipped with a digital thermometer that displays the console's internal temperature, and the LEDs shift with that measurement. Every 5° change pushes their hue towards either a colder or warmer glow, luminescing a light blue at sub-28°C and glaring klaxon red when temperatures over 55°C are detected.

If you're paranoid about overheating consoles, a mod like this would be perfect for quickly warning you to either shut your system off or execute an emergency saucer separation, putting distance between you and the rest of the starship before the Wii's warp core breaches. Let's all hope it never comes to that. Set a course past the post break, and check out a couple more photos of Team Xtender's ii-Hot Rock case.

Pretty much the best Wii case mod ever

Wouldn't you agree?

This mod, which we can't get over just how impressive it is, was sent in by reader Jeremy. His friend created this beauty, which is sitting in Atlanta, GA as we type this, and seeks to sell it for vast amount of monies on Ebay. Jeremy also assures us that a portion of the proceeds are going to be donated to Child's Play. The sword is even detachable, allowing the winning bidder to act out their desire to be Link (who doesn't want to wield the Master Sword?), as well as possess one of the sweetest looking Wiis in existence.

As always, if you've spotted a cool mod, feel free to let us know.

[Thanks, Jeremy!]
