Mario Kart cheat allows unlimited blue shells

Apparently, we're late to the party on this one, as folks have been steaming mad over a hack that allows players to toss an infinite number of blue shells during online races. While the video above does not show you the code, it does show you the damage that can be done. We've got a solution, however. Play Mario Kart Wii with us at Game Night!

Having run Game Night for almost two years now, we can safely say nobody there cheats. We all enjoy multiplayer games together, the way they were meant to be played. So check it out!

A fan of Mario Kart Wii? Us too, especially the tournaments, which there have been quite a few of. To check out the previous tournaments, click here, here, here, here, here, and here. And if you fancy yourself a good karter, check out Game Night for some of the community's best competition.

Homebrew app Ocarina makes cheating that much easier

You've got to love the Homebrew community. They're constantly trying to cut corners and this latest app, Ocarina, is no different. Instead of spending time inputting button commands in-game, you can simply inject them, Game Genie or Action Replay-style, into the game. For example, in Twilight Princess, the Ocarina app allows the user to climb ladders super fast, have infinite bombs and use a variety of items underwater. Among other things, Link can also use the Spinner in a really imaginative way.

[Thanks, RupeeClock!]

The homebrew community has been hard at work creating wonderful experiences for you to enjoy with your Wii. Did you know about homebrew game Masteroids? Or how about the shmup OpenTyrian? Outside of games, people have been using the Balance Board to come up with some really neat stuff. Keep up with the homebrew scene by staying current with our Homebrew category!

Make short work of Mario Kart Wii's Grumble Volcano

This video demonstrates a totally cheap shortcut for jerks -- or if you're playing single-player, a really cool shortcut -- in Mario Kart Wii's Grumble Volcano track. With the judicious use of a mushroom, you can avoid the track altogether and rack up record-breaking lap times without being troubled by any of those obstacles or opponents that are always ruining your records.

We really doubt this will give anyone a significant advantage online. In fact, it's going to be very funny to see entire groups of online players trying to crowd onto this tiny rock at the beginning of every race, leaving smart racers a wide-open track.

Spoiler Mario Galaxy: tons of secrets revealed

Since we've marked this Super Mario Galaxy video as containing SPOILERS, we're fairly certain that none of you will watch it. Therefore, we can tell you things about the video that may or may not be true, like that it features a heartfelt tribute to Clu Clu Land, and you won't know for certain if we're lying. Did you know that you can subscribe to Famitsu via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, just by jumping into a certain pipe? We won't say which one.

Actually (and don't kill us if you watch it and disagree) we find most of the tricks highlighted in the video to be of the non-spoiler variety. There is the occasional secret here and there, but mostly we see glitches and a few helpful moves that should have been in the instruction manual. We also see a few extremely obvious things regarding Star Bits, which probably are in the instruction manual. Is your fear of being spoiled more powerful than your curiosity?
