Ten reasons one guy likes Dewy's Adventure

Josh from WiiFolder.com loves Dewy's Adventure, and he's not above inventing his own logic to make you love it as well. He's created a video called "Top 10 Reasons Why Dewy's Adventure Completely Rocks!" Of course, his definition of "rocking" is idiosyncratic at best: KISS, for example, were never known for their "cutesy style."

We agree with some of his reasoning: edit mode is wonderful, and the game appears to have excellent level design. We don't think he's going to win any converts with his reasons, but on the other hand, for those of us who already think Dewy looks great, this is a chance to see a bunch of footage.

Dewy's Adventure commercial is guaranteed to brighten your day

It'll probably brighten your room just from the ambient light. It's bright, is what we're driving at. Bright and colorful. We don't want to overstate too much for comedic effect, so we'll just say it plainly: if this commercial for Dewy's Adventure doesn't make you smile, then you are probably a bad person.

Look around your house. Do you see anything that might be evidence of personal badness? Ask your lackey what he thinks. Then try to retrace your steps. Have you twirled your moustache today? Had you just finished tying a damsel to the railroad tracks?

(Click on the "New! 3" button to get to the commercial.)

Fresh screens and video for Dewy's Adventure

It's been a dry spell lately when it comes to news of our wet friend Dewy, but IGN got their hands on an early build of Konami's game recently and presents a new video of in-game footage, along with several screens. Many might be willing to shrug this off as just another kiddy offering on the console, but we loves us some platforming, so we pay no attention to those folk. You shouldn't either, instead paying attention to the video at IGN (won't embed for some reason) and following that up by checking out the screens there.

Gamestop visits the future and brings back a list

Feel like planning your game purchases for the rest of the year? We can help, with this list of release dates and prices from EB/Gamestop's point-of-sale system.

There's some reasonably exciting stuff on there, like Manhunt 2 (August 1st), Dewy's Adventure (September 3rd), and NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams (October 1st), as well as stuff that is slightly less mass-appeal, like Escape from Bug Island and CSI 4: Hard Evidence. There's a large cluster of EA stuff marked as being released on November 1st, but we suspect that date is a placeholder. For that matter, don't take any of these release dates as ironclad.

The full list is available for browsing after the break. It's still useful even if you don't plan to go into Gamestop for some reason.

Producer talks up Dewy's Adventure in video interview

GameTrailers has put up an in-depth video interview with Dewy's Adventure producer Shingo Muikatoge. Also responsible for the fun and inventive Elebits, he talks up the inspiration that title gave them for Dewy's Adventure, as well as the game's controls and graphics. Did you know they've been working on it for almost a year?

Check out the video, which is really enlightening and embedded past the post break.

Konami announces new game for the Wii

Konami has announced a new game for Nintendo's Wii. With the title Dewy's Adventure, the game is being developed by the same team responsible for Konami's other Wii outing Elebits. The game follows Dewy (natch), a cute little droplet of water, as he quests to restore the lush foliage of his forest home. From early looks, the game is to feature a wide range of puzzles in the fashion of Super Monkey Ball.

Using the Wiimote will allows players to control Dewy, however on occasion it will allow them to control the environment. Konami also implied that, like Elebits, the game will feature an environment creation mode, as well as allowing them to craft their own puzzles from scratch. We loved Elebits, so here's to hoping that Dewy can provide an equally fun, if not more fun, time.
