Two useless accessories become one

CYBER Gadget has made significant technological strides in the field of unnecessary Wii accessories, combining two of the least helpful accessories in one package. The CYBER Smash Grip combines a Wiimote controller grip thing with a D-pad thumbstick cover, and adds (as a bonus!) a thing that makes the A button stick out more for some reason.

If we were going to get some kind of controller for, uh, Smashing, we're pretty sure we'd go ahead and spend the extra for a Classic Controller instead of dropping 1,280 yen ($12.75) for this thing. Not that this thing is being marketed with Brawl in mind or anything. "Smash Grip" is just a catchy name, right?

The most interesting Wiimote grip shell ever

The person selling this Wiimote controller grip on eBay claims it's an unreleased development model. We've certainly never seen this exact model before. GameSniped agrees, and they're fairly savvy about neat rare game stuff. With no brand marking, we're having a hard time searching for it to see if anything matching this shape made it to the market. It's a bit nicer-looking than some other grips we've seen, owing mostly to its similarity to the quite comfortable Dual Shock.

Who made this? Why didn't it get released? Why does it have fake, nonfunctioning Dual Shock shoulder buttons? The controller grip is shrouded in mystery.

Wiimote cover has a little something extra

If you've got the wrist strap secured tightly and you're still launching your Wiimote skyward, then ... well, you have a problem. Maybe you're eating too much Xtreme Butter popcorn, or maybe the can of WD-40 you always carry around is leaking.

This product from Elecom is for you and no one else, Mr. Comically Slippery Hands. It's a silicone Wiimote sleeve with a big handle on it. There's no link to order one yet, so you have time to wipe your hands off and put some grip tape on your mouse in preparation for placing an order.

Wii remote grip, for that non-authentic PS3 experience

If you happen to be a Wii owner who secretly yearns for the cancelled PS3 "boomerang" controller, then boy have we got something for you. Wrap your meaty man-hands around this bad boy and your Excite Truck experience will be ... uh... like nothing Nintendo ever wanted you to experience. Brilliant!

And no, this doesn't even come complete with convenient recharging abilities. It's just a plastic boomerang shell.

Rechargeable Controller Grip

Fire Bird's rechargeable grip combines the functions of a Wii remote charging dock and a controller frame accessory. The product seemed silly to us at first, but we suppose that something like this could be useful when we're playing Virtual Console releases or games that require us to hold the remote sideways like Excite Truck. Having a convenient way to recharge the battery via USB will also come in handy for future marathon sessions with Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn when Nintendo brings the time-consuming SRPG stateside.

SuccessHK no longer has the rechargeable controller grip in stock, but there are still a few listed on eBay for about $9.99 ($8.00 shipping). One strange thing to note about the packaging is its Wii Sports branding. Having your remote locked into the plastic frame would make playing any of the Wii Sports' games awkward. Check out that Wii logo too! The last two letters look more like a u-umlaut than lowercase i's. Head past the post break for a larger shot of the grip!

Protect your Wiimote with a decal

Gametech is concerned about the finish of your Wiimote. Perhaps you've been playing too much Wario Ware while wearing your fabulous jewelry? Perhaps you've been putting the Wiimote in your pocket while you answer the phone? Or maybe you've put the controller through too many televisions?

Whatever the reason, your pristine, shiny surface is in danger of being scratched. And Gametech wants to sell you this plastic decal, called the Subera na Sheet Wii ("Slip Sheet Wii") to help prevent that from happening. They're also including a grip-enhancing decal for the battery cover of the remote. They promise right there on the package that it is difficult for you to lose grip of it!
