Strong Bad Episode 3: Featuring Homsar as the theremin

Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People is in its third episode, getting cooler as they go; therefore we expect the people which it is for to be more attractive. The latest episode, Baddest of the Bands, features Strong Bad trying to earn some money by putting together a band and entering them in a competition. However, with a band composed of Homsar and the KOT, he's not likely to become a hundredaire any time soon.

After the break, in case you missed it (we did!) the introductory trailer for this episode. We're going to be sad when we don't have a new episode of Strong Bad to look forward to.

Wii Fanboy Review: Strong Badia the Free

The Telltale folks have dished out another episode of Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People (otherwise known as SBCG4AP). Much like the first episode, Strong Badia the Free has its ups and downs, but, for the most part, is everything you'd expect from the genre. If you had trouble swallowing the first episode, then know that much hasn't changed with the second download.

Telltale tempts fate, names release date for Strong Bad

In what seems like an especially Dangeresque move after Nintendo's total dis of third parties' Virtual Console scheduling, Telltale Games sent out a press release announcing the release date for the first episode of Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People.

Assuming that Telltale has paid proper tribute to their feudal lords at Nintendo, Homestar Ruiner will be out next Monday in North America for 1,000 Wii Points. Future episodes should release every month after that. We hope it's true. We feel like we've been waiting since last month for this game, and we'd be pretty sad if Nintendo SBLOUNSKCHED the release.

Strong Bad's game looks SO GOOD!

Hey, olda boys: do you still miss video games? You'll be able to play next month, and as a bonus, you'll have the ability to create custom Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive PeopleTeen Girl Squad cartoons! The latest screens offer us the first look at Strong Bad's amazing, uh, table, where the genius himself (or even you!) comes up with all the deep Teen Girl Squad storylines.

While the trailer (after the post break) may be DEVOID'D of Teen Girl Squad content, it totally confirms the appearance in Episode 1: Homestar Ruiner of one of the most lovable characters in all of the Homestar Runner universe: The Stick. Or is The Stick more of a location than a character?

If that's not Strong Badical enough, you can play an exclusive tech demo at Strong Bad's dev blog!

Telltale talks about Strong Bad, Sam & Max

The folks at Telltale Games have been talking up Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People, as well as the upcoming Wii port of Sam & Max, to TheBBPS. Aside from what was said to Joystiq last week, the team at Telltale Games revealed that the Strong Bad game will be running on the same engine that powers Sam & Max. Also revealed about Strong Bad is the inclusion of a "bizarre 'edutainment' title" in one of the upcoming episodes.

In regards to Sam & Max, the decision to go with a retail product made more sense, but they aren't ruling out the possibility of hitting up WiiWare.

Video, screens, and info for Attractive People

Hey there, pretty people -- you might be interested in hearing the latest news about Telltale's upcoming WiiWare series, Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People. As for the rest of you uglies, just movie on -- there's nothing to see here. (If you're perusing Wii Fanboy, you're clearly hot stuff, so don't worry and read on.)

Telltale reports that the first episode of the game, titled "Homestar Ruiner," centers around Strong Bad's desire to pummel Homestar Runner. He then decides that the best way to beat his rival would be to defeat him in the tri-annual Race to the End of the Race.

You can check out the video of "Homestar Ruiner" above, although it doesn't show too much gameplay. Occasionally, it looks like you have to choose something from a thought bubble in order to progress the story, but often there's only one item to choose from. Joystiq did report that the demo for SBCG4AP was pretty linear, but hopefully the episode in its entirety will have more to offer.

We've also added some new game screens to our gallery, which feature some beloved characters from the Homestar Runner-verse, so be sure to check them out.

Wii Warm Up: A flavor taste that will send you to the moon

We know that the main Homestar Runner cast will make appearances in Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People. We can also assume that everyone's favorite man/dragonman/just a dragon will show up as well. But it's not just about Homestar and the Strongs.

What else from the Homestarniverse do you want to see in the episodic adventure? Il Cartographer? Dangeresque? Stinko Man 20X6? Would it even be possible to endure a game featuring Senor Cardgage, the creepiest coolest guy we know? We're hoping for a visit from Mr. Shmallow -- look lively! -- or his descendants Marshie and Gel-arshie (who is an abomination, and is coming to your house after school!) That would be SO GOOD!

Telltale brings Strong Bad to attractive people

Wow, we never thought we'd be writing about Strong Bad twice in one week on a Wii blog. Yet, Telltale finally announced their oh-so-secret WiiWare game, which will feature everyone's favorite Homestar Runner mascot. Titled Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People, this series will consist of five episodes that will come out on a monthly basis. (As it turns out, the "actual gameplay footage" at the end of the Strong Bad Gameways video is actual gameplay footage!)

Like Sam & Max, this game will be in the adventure genre, involving humor, puzzles, and point-and-click goodness. Telltale has also added some neat time-wasting extras, like checking Strong Bad's emails, making prank phone calls, and playing arcade games styled after the ones on Homestar Runner's site.

Between bringing this and Sam & Max to the Wii, we're so in love with Telltale right now. If you're excited, too, make sure to check out the official webpage for SBCG4AP, which just went live (and has a gameplay trailer!).

(Note: Sorry for the delay in putting this news up; we were waiting for Telltale to release assets for the game first, to make this post as thorough as possible.)

Strong Bad gives safety tips for playing Wii

It's been a long time since we regularly kept up with Homestar Runner, but there's no doubting that it's still full of the funnies. Take this video of Wii safety tips, for example, which was linked as an easter egg in the latest Strong Bad Email.

In this video, Strong Bad tells you how to "enjoy" your game in total, unplayable safety. (Damn that Baba Jaga!) All in all, it's a perfect satire on Nintendo's overzealous safety mentality (although, maybe not as perfect as this).
