LEGO Batman trailer shows off multiple in-game characters

In the video above for upcoming LEGO Batman, we get a glimpse into some of the co-op fun (which you might have seen already), as Batman and what we're assuming is Nightwing (been awhile since we read a comic, sadly) tear through downtown Gotham. They're not the only visible characters, however, as the Penguin gets some face time in also. And, speaking of downtown Gotham, the city really is brought to life incredibly well in the game, wouldn't you say?

New LEGO Batman trailer shows off villain teamwork

A new trailer from the upcoming LEGO Batman game has hit the net, showing off some of that sweet villain action we reported on awhile back. In the video, you can see Catwoman and The Riddler going at it, tearing up what we assume are a gang of rival thugs and also taking the time to navigate some rooftops. After watching it, we'll say this: The Riddler has some brawn to back up those brains of his.

LEGO Batman isn't just for heroes anymore

For those of you who appreciate who's on the other side of the cold, hard fist of the law in Gotham City, your time has come. Turns out, you'll be able to play as villains in the upcoming LEGO Batman game, allowing you to once and for all put The Bat in his place. So if you have a plethora of Dark Side points stockpiled, cash them in when LEGO Batman releases later this year.

Oh, and there is a new trailer for the game. We've tucked it past the break for your viewing convenience.

Lego Batman to hit Wiis next year

TT Games officially announced today that the next game in the LEGO franchise, LEGO Batman: The Videogame, is coming out on the Wii (and pretty much every other system). The game will be made by the same development team that made the popular LEGO Star Wars games.

LEGO Batman not only lets you play as Batman and Robin, but you can also play as the bad guys. The press release didn't specify whether or not villain control will be limited to certain sections of the game or available throughout, but it's still a nice feature to add. More things to look forward to include the vehicle construction feature, utilizing Batman's gadgetry, and a two player co-op mode.

We're 100% convinced that this game is going to rock our world. The game is schedule for a Fall 2008 release, though, and we just don't know how we're going to wait that long. Ah, the sweet, sweet torture of it all.
