Best of 2007: Worst attempt at a cash-in

Star Wars Complete Saga: Invasion of Naboo
You know, we never played the first Lego Star Wars game because, frankly, Star Wars Episode 1, 2 and 3 were trash. Seriously, we couldn't find a single thing worth liking about those new movies, but this is not the proper forum to complain about them, we're merely presenting you with a why as to our avoiding that game.
The latest trailer for Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga has us thinking that we missed out hard though, as the invasion of Naboo level looks like all kinds of fun. And those graphics are pretty nice, too.
Who will be joining us in picking this up come next month?
Lego Star Wars controls revealed in a helpful video
While it might not be the 1:1 lightsaber movement we wanted in our first Star Wars game on the Wii, the controls don't look as if they're totally bunked. No, this is a game we can still very much play. We might get a bit tired doing so, but no pain, no gain, right?
What do you folks think?

Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga gameplay demo
A new gameplay trailer for Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga has emerged on the net. In said trailer, we're shown all of the wonderful waggle that is sure to cause many a wrist to ache once the game releases. Maybe it's just us, but using the Force to assemble blocks looks kind of annoying. Using the lightsaber looks fun, though.
Check out the video past the post break.

E307: Joystiq goes hands on with Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga
Our blogging overlords got their hands on the Wii version of Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga at E3 yesterday. Sure, they got their hands on all three different versions of the game, commenting that the PS3 version looked the best. Graphics don't mean crud to us, though. We want to know about those gesture-based controls!
In regards to that, they said that the control setup does "somewhat answer our Jedi geek dreams: motion controlled lightsaber action." They add that the motion controls allow for a unique experience on the Wii, which is something we're glad to read. They didn't really have much more to say about the Wii version of the game beyond that, but we're just glad to hear the motion controls are spot on and fun.

A taste of the Wiimote in Lego Star Wars

When news broke that Wii owners would be able to partake in the entire Lego Star Wars experience, complete in one nicely-bundled package, many probably wondered if some waggle would be making its way into using the lightsaber. Turns out, it is, but it won't be as influential as you think.
According to CVG, the game will still use button presses to initiate most moves, however, through the use of the Wiimote's motion-sensitivity, players can pump up their powers. For example, players can construct objects from the loose bricks permeating the game world faster by moving the Wiimote up and down. It might not be what gamers are hoping for, but at least it's a step in the right direction.

Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga uses the Force to extract money from wallets

Are you looking forward to some sci-fi, plastic-blocked hi-jinks, or are you sick of the Wii getting nothing but what seem to be ports?

Lego Star Wars brings the Force to your Wii
Codename Revolution is reporting that one of their distributor contacts has confirmed a compilation title consisting of Lego Star Wars I and Lego Star Wars II will be headed to the Wii this holiday season. Nothing more than a port of both titles on the GameCube, the game will now feature Wiimote controls, bringing us all one step closer to actually wielding a lightsaber. Of course, we'd like to point out that the Wii doesn't need any more GameCube ports, but we feel kind of like a Storm Trooper in Mos Eisley. Kind of like these aren't the grievances we're looking for. Plus, lightsabers, man ... lightsabers.
